Never again !
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/08
Arriving at O'Hare at 5:20 a.m. and flying out at 4:30 p.m., I wanted a simple hotel room where I could sleep for a few hours, and then shower and shave before returning to the airport for my connecting flight. This hotel quoted me a price of $60 for the half-day. Apart from the hotel itself. which was pretty awful, my major complaint is that when checking out, they were unable to provide me with a copy of the charge to my credit card, except for a hand-written bill for $66.59. When I got my credit card statement, however, I found that I had been charged $133.18 (just the double of the correct amount), and so far (after 10 days) I have been unable to obtain a credit for the overcharged amount. My advice: stay away from this place. They are simply DISHONEST. Morton L. Brown

I won't stay here again
By Booktraveler, 11/15/07
We waited 2 hours at O'Hare for the complimentary shuttle. When the shuttle arrived, we were briskly informed by the driver that he'd "been around 5 or 6 times in the last hour", and that we must have not seen his van with the large "super 8" decal pull up directly in front of us. He then brought us to the hotel, which is close to the airport. The hotel was filthy, our room was filthy and not cleaned the following day. The morning "breakfast" was undrinkable coffee and donuts from a previous day. I will not be staying here again.

Absolutely Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/07
This motel was absolutely disgusting. I don't mind a little dirt or run-down places but this place was horrible. The carpets and walls were filthy, outlet covers were missing, phones didn't work, and a lot of the "amenities" were missing. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

very average experience
By Tim, 06/09/07
This hotel is a toss-up. The location would be ok if primarily staying/visiting in the O'hare area. If travelling into Chicago, took at least 45 minutes, even taking the expressway because of construction. Staff were generally helpful, especially the general manager, Azher, who provided us with printed maps and advice. The hotel appearance was questionable. It looks like the place is being renovated but with no apparent work being done. The room could have been better. Beds were ok, but the room smelled musty until air conditioner had been run for several minutes and kept on. The bathroom was average but was the nicest part of the room. There was also a questionable stain on the chair. Breakfast was an average continental (bagels, cereal, etc) and was adequate. Underground parking was a bonus. Total value was ok but travelling costs to chicago decreased the value. If not for helpfulness of general manager, probably would have tried checking out the next day. Overall experience very average, met basic needs.

Just fine

Fine hotel for the money, not great, not terrible. Good and fast airport access. The staff was friendly. Can order delicious food in from area restaurants.

Beware of this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/22/05
I decided to save a little bit of money and stay here instead of the one IN Elk grove and boy was that a mistake. I thought this hotel would be just as good but when I got to this hotel the front desk lady had some attitude with me and my car. She basically demanded I move it so the shuttle could park. Anyways after dealing with her we checked into our room and I would have been fine if the room didnt smell like there was a skunk in it. We called down and asked to change rooms. First she said she couldnt move us because we had "used the room, (We had been in there for a good 30 seconds) Then she said that the hotel was full. Trust me, there was hardly a soul in that place. I didnt see anyone at the breakfast, and I sat there for a good hour and half eating from 830 or so till about 10. Finally we talked to someone who said he could move us, but when we got to that room it was leaking from the ceiling. Apparently this place gets like this when it rains was his remarks. We basically had to move the bed to avoid getting hit in the face with drops. We left the next morning and the bill stated 2 nights charge instead of one....im still working on getting this cleared off my card. If you want to not sleep, get water drops on your forehead all night, and deal with rude staff, then by all means go here. Next time ill spend the extra $8 dollars and goto the other Super 8. They atleast know how to treat guests and have clean rooms that dont leak water on your head!!! (I cant believe that still!) (Side note here: After calling to complain about my stay to the hotel they basically said that there was nothing they could do since we didnt bring up any complaints while we were there. I told them that we asked to switch rooms because of the smell and that he saw the water dripping in our room! They said they have no knowledge of this but I guess the business is always right........)

It was okay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/26/04
The night desk clerk was not the friendliest but he did accomadate us when possible. The rooms were adequate and clean. The motel needs some work. The conteninental breakfast was sparse. It did offer cereal and toast as well as doughnuts, tho. If you have luggage, make sure you carry it in before parking. The parking is underground and indoors (which I really liked), but there is no elevator up to the main floor. If you are on a low budget, this is not a bad place to stay.

Very run down, sad.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/04
Had a ground floor non-smoking room, where with a rain storm, water had leaked and puddled into hallway. Staff had put up caution wet floor signs, but I didn't feel it was enough with standing water. Also, has underground parking, but to get to and from your car you have to enter the hotel via a steep stairwell that is without any lighting. Totally unsafe during the rainstorm that took place during our stay. Would I stay again. Not in my lifetime:(
