Berkeley Hostel at Piedmont House has mostly private rooms, and very little dorm space...no planned group activities... and is a youth hostel essentially due to its shared facilities, such as 'bathroom down the hall', and a community kitchen so our guests can survive affordably in Berkeley. We are three blocks from The Boalt Hall corner of campus and from International House and a short walk to bookstores, cafes and famous purveyors of international cuisine (Three blocks to the famous Telegraph Avenue). Close by, there is great hiking, museums, and a well-regarded botanical garden.Berkeley's cultural life of music, dance, poetry, sports, theatre, scientific and cutting edge intellectual pursuits never stops. Berkeley is one of the best cross-cultural places to visit in the globe. It is the Mecca where diverse cultures flourish harmoniously together. There are frequently farmers markets.
