10 reviews for Doubletree Hotel Austin- University Area, Austin
UT Doubletree
By idpete2001, 07/31/07
Very nice property. Beautiful landscaping and well maintained grounds. Hotel lobby is spacious but has an intimacy about it. Friendly staff with bilingual housekeeping staff. Nice comfortable room with wireless internet access and a wonderful view of downtown. Only complaint is that the climate control blower is pretty loud when operating.

Great place to stay
By Brandi T, 07/18/07
We stayed here for an overnight girl weekend. I found the staff very friendly and welcomed us nicely. (the cookies were a nice touch!) The room was very clean and the beds were wonderfully comfortable with lots of pillows. We enjoyed using the internet cafe and I was pleased to find a couple of computers for us to use as well. I was a bit disappointed to find I had to pay $10 for breakfast, but there is a Denny's in the parking lot so it was ok. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Very easy to get to and close to everything.

GOOD CHOICE!!
By JUDY A, 07/02/07
We had tickets to a show at the Erwin Center and we wanted something close. We were quite impressed with how fast and easy it was, and we were greeted with a warm chocolate chip cookie which was WONDERFUL! The room was clean, comfortable and the gentleman working the front dest was very helpful in making recommendations and also with printing out directions for us. We would definitely stay there again.

HAVE A MORNING MEETING? GET YOUR SNACKS HERE!
By Gabriel, 11/02/06
A lot of us forget that Au Bon Pain is in downtown. This morning, my agency had a workgroup meeting, and I was responsible for getting the snacks. Although the prices are a little high and the shop closes at 10AM, this is still a great location to get that emergency pasteries.

Not a bad choice.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/20/06
This hotel is very close to UT. It has computers in the lobby that you can check emails or browse internet. You can also ask the front desk for a ethernet cable and hook up online in your room. Some hotel rooms has window facing the freeway so make sure to ask the front desk to assign you a quieter room.

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/06
I was woken up 4 times by car alarm going off, 2 times by loud people in the hall. Also, our room was on the front of the building and the freeway traffic could be heard all night. The room was paper thin as far as noise is concerned. The bed was good and when I could sleep it was a great bed. If quiet could be maintained, the stay would have been great. However, noise abatement must be built in as hotel goes up not afterwards. Therefore I will not be in this hotel ever again! There is no breakfast included with the room. A big disappointment. In this day and age that is a little wrong. There is a denny's right next door and can be walked to.

Great Property A+++
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/27/05
I travel often on business and this was a great property. The hotel I usually stay st in Austin was full so I tried this one. The property was new and the rooms were clean, spacious amd had high speed Internet access. Breakfast at AuBon Pain was great. Business area off to side of lobby with workspaces, PC's and Internet. Nice pool area and great location. Will definitely stay there again my next trip to Austin.

Hotel Sucks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/04
The breakfast was horrible. I was there on a weekday. The hotel was at 3% capacity. Seemed like no one lived there. The front desk guy told me that they have wireless DSL in the lobby. The wireless DSL never worked for me. When I checked in they gave me a key and room number that was already assigned to someone.
