Extended Stay America-Phoenix-Scottsdale, Scottsdale

my stay was a relocation from las vegas for employment. We are used to service, coming from living in vegas of 17 years.this was a temp stay 2 weeks exact. I was pulling my hair out to come home to this every night. My cable was out for our first 2 nights. The towels, had fresh blood on them when we used them at the pool, and in the room. The gate lock was broke( a huge safty issue for families. The fresh stacks of towels that we asked for were hot from the dryer, but i think the maid had a cut on hands, since it was fresh blood on every towel! I brought to the managment attention, but still blood. I almost rubbed my face dry, then noticed this....possible disease ! I was lucky, i looked at my towels before being possibly infected because i am a germ a-fo. The beds were so, so comfy. It smelled of smoke in room from the excessive moisture problem, we had to keep the windos open, the a/c units was load, the late parties had no end, 1 bbq for every one in hotel to share and we never had a opportunity, was always taken along with the gazebo area was always taken from same people. This was the 1 area, and they could of had more bbq and gazebos for others to enjoy. The breakfeast needs some waffles and a sitting area. The coffee was great. I stayed on top of the covers, with my own blankets. The plumbing was stopped up in my room. Then the shower knob broke and could not shower until they ordered the part, (2 days) the water was so caulding hot, when the knob broke on hot, that i was burned, my flesh was burned and it took 1 week for the red to disappear from my scalded skin. They claimed at first that the pipeing was hot from the phoenix sun.they found that the shower knob was broke. Took lots of trying to convence it was broke. This hot water created a steam !our feet were black after walking on carpet, we then wore our shoes. The paint was fresh, but they need to hire someone qualified to actually maintain this facility, a true maintenance / handyman, and a designer please. I cooked for my family , but with limited space, i used the coffee table, end table, top fridge, and the desk to use as cooking space.the staff some professional, some not. Only 1 bbq/ gazebo which was always taken, we never had a cahnce to enjoy, the same people always took control of it and all day and night they sat there or the family sat there. They need more bbq and gazebo/ sitting areas. A play area in need here, to seperate familys from party crowds of nastyness. Trash in halls over flowed all over the place, towels thrown all over halls out side of rooms/ on top trash can, elevator & shopping carts in halls...soda machine took my change and no soda or food dropped. Cig smoke rolled in halls, and smelled of a sweaty locker room in halls. I hope managment hires new people, needs qualified & trained cust service, a true knowledgeable & experienced maintenance man, please design/ decorate, hire more maids, spend money on this business and the return will be huge. This is a nice area, but nasty hotel. Management please, i would love to sleep on mattress again, but take all i have detaild to heart, make changes!!!!! Cleanliness is in dyer need here. This is my stay experience, i spent $1000, and i want my money back i could stayed at a holiday inn, western union. They are clean, and have a sitting breakfeast area, more areas to bbq/ relax, and no blood !!! beware

This is the diritiest and loudest place I've stayed in some 20 years of travel. Sheets were stained, floor was dirty - No hot water for 4 days - Additionally, it was impossible to sleep due to the loud parties at night and children running around screaming at the crack of dawn. Spend the extra $10 dollars/night and visit a hotel where you can actually sleep and shower.

Well, the place was reasonably priced, but essentially a series of one-room apartments, so no bar, no lounge etc., just a tiny foyer. Our corridor and room smelt strongly (and inescapably) of cigerette smoke, despite notices. The airconditioning was so noisy we had to choose between not sleeping because of the heat, or not sleeping because of the noise. Awful.

There was very limited cooking supplies so do not plan to cook very much. After walking barefoot in the room, my feet looked like I had been walking outside. The carpet was so filthy we had to use clean towels for rugs to have a clean surface to walk on.

We have been staying at this location with family each year for five or six years now. The service was initially excellent, and we were very impressed. However, the hotel, previously owned by Sierra Suites, is now an "Extended Stay Deluxe". Our experience this year has me afraid to see what their "un-deluxe" hotels look like. When we made reservations, we were told to expect a few "minor" changes. These minor changes turned out to be pretty major. Whereas the Sierra Suites rooms were always exceptionally clean and well stocked, Extended Stay's rooms now smell like smoke. The new owners eliminated such conviences as shampoo and wake-up calls. Worse, there is no housekeeping service at all unless you're willing to pay an extra $5 a day. The complimentary breakfast has been eliminnated during the weekends, and weekday offerings have been reduced substantially. Our room key failed at least 3 times, and the staff blamed us and told us to keep the cards away from our cell phones. There had not even been a cell phone in the room! The silverware in room was dirty, and there were bugs on the floor in the kitchen area. We will be finding another regular hotel for our trips to Phoenix.

This hotel is not only spotless, but the staff is out standing. The rooms alone are enough to make you feel more at home ... The rooms are big enough that they all have a mini-kitchen (stove, frige, microwave, etc.). Housekeeping and front desk staff are friendly and efficient, making the environment comfortable and inviting. Breakfast is more than the old toast and banana option at some hotels -- here there is variety! Located just off of Shea (a major road in the north valley) and close to the 101-loop, it's close to shopping, sites and great food.
