I was there last February and went on my own for an adventure trip. It was a fascinating and unusual place to stay. The food was good and the accommodations interesting and luxuriously decorated. Unfortunately it poured with rain every day I was there (quite unusual, they said)and the river ran too high to do the rafting. The jungle gets quite dark when no sun shines, and there isn't a lot else to do.
I did do the zip line though and that was awesome-really great! I also did the night walk with a Mayan naturalist and we heard a jaguar growl. That was incredible.
I would recommend going to Jaguar Paw between March and June, when you're pretty sure the weather will be dry. Also, I would have an agent book a tour so that you stay here for two days, then move on to another part of the country. There are lots of things to do in Belize, but they are spread out.
You don't need to stay at Jaquar Paw to enjoy the Zip Line or Tubing.
The place was overpriced with dumpy rooms and nasty linens. And the front desk service was absolutely rude.
Save your money and stay somewhere else.
Not only was the cave rafting a blast, the wild animals outside your dining area, and overhead made you realize where you really were!
Food very pricy and rooms quite pricy $ 125.00 U.S. for the economy(Belize dollar value 1/2 value of U.S. dollar).
The environment is worth a visit, try to stay and eat elsewhere is possible.
