Save your money and go somewhere else!!
By ,
Well there is so much to say and so little space. Where do I begin. First alittle background. I have been to my share of all inclusive resorts all over the carribean and this one is by far the WORST and the Most EXPENSIVE. The grounds. The grounds are not very well maintained. A lot of TLC is needed on this property and not a lot of work is being done. The entire resort needs a power wash and a fresh coat of paint. Additional plants and trees need to be put in. Walking to your room in building 700 and 800 you smell poop! The property is small and you see a lot of chain link fences and utility stations during your scenic walks around the property, all of this should be blocked from guests view. The property is old and only Has been, what seems to be partially renovated, through the years. The pools. Small and not kept clean. The main pool is not large at all. All other resorts i have been to have a much larger pool. Only 35 chairs around the main pool. Yes I counted them. No lifeguard seen the entire week, although a sign says life guard on duty 9-5. Need better filtration in the pool, it is filled with bugs and junk, they need somebody skimming the pool every few hours. Broken tiles in the pool, just not maintained. The rooms. The only good thing to say about the rooms is that they are clean. There is nothing beachy about them. As for the beach front or ocean front they don't exist, so don't book them!! Our beach front room was about 350 feet from the ocean and you could barely see the ocean from the room - this was after I refused the first "beach front" room which had me looking at another building. Nothing fancy about the rooms at all, basic basic basic. Did I mention this was supposed to be a "beach front honeymoon concierge deluxe"? Lol. Concierge. Don't waste your money, you are getting nothing for the concierge service. The only thing you get is liquor to your room if you ask for it three times and wait three days. Again let me repeat you don't get anything for concierge it is just a scam so they charge you more. Buffet Food. Let me start by saying that the food at my connecting airport in Orlando, at Chilis, was the best food I had all week!! The buffet was horrible, they had only about 10-12 hot dishes for each meal and about 8 of them were standards throughout the week. No fresh cooked burgers on the buffet for lunch. No fresh pancakes or waffles made to order for breakfast. The beach. Now I will say that this is one of the nicest beaches I have been to. Beach is clean and beautiful, if the rest of the resort was maintained like the beach this review would be completely different. Clean ocean water too. The bugs. Read the reviews and bring your bug spray!! There are bugs and sand fleas all over the beach, resort, and balconies. You will be eaten alive. It was so bad guests complained constantly about the bugs. And they charged $15 for bug spray. This is the only resort I have been to that does not fumigate every single morning, now I know why the others do. The service. Slow slow slow. Concierge always said we are on it and you will have it in a few minutes but it literally took days. The management. Surprise surprise the director of guest services who could actually do something about my room complaints wasn't in at 2pm on a Sunday. I was supposed to get a call from her but never did, guess she is tired of hearing Price. This resort is completely overpriced. For 5k a week for two adults I expected papering and world class food. I got neither. Final recommendations. Don't stay here. Stay at Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton for under 3k and get a world class resort, world class food, and world class service!!! BUT if you must go to this resort: get a base room (they are practically all the same), skip concierge and with the extra money get a private cabana everyday, bring LOTS of bug spray, and be prepared to be dissatisfied with the resort, service, and food.

We can't wait to go back to this resort!!!
By ,
Every thing about this place was up exactly how we pictured it! Our kids had an amazing time in the kids zone..our kids are 6 and 4... The staff is phenomenal! From day one they remembered their names and ours too!! Our son had a heat rash and one of the staff members Marjorie got us natural aloe for the rash no questions asked! This resort is extremely child friendly! The only thing I found a little disappointing was the Italian restaurant... We had made reservations and still ended up waiting and hour and a half.. And then another hour for the food when we got there.. But just a minor setback when compared to every thing else... The housekeeping was amazing! They set the beds up for the kids with their stuffed animals incorporated in the theme with the towels... We will definitely by heading back again in the next couple of years!!

Don't believe the negative reviews
By ,
If you are looking for a great place to vacation do not believe all of the negative reviews. After going here I can't understand where these reviews come from. I have been to Sandals five times and Beaches once, and I don't have any complaints. I can't wait to go again! The workers, all of the way from the bottom to the top, are all very nice and will help you. The only thing I can think of when reading these reviews is that the people complaining are your typical US snob who thinks others should bow down and kiss their feet. That's not going to happen, but you will get people who will do all they can for you, and will do so with a friendly positive attitude and a smile. You will also get people who will remember your name and say hi when you pass them. I went to Sandal's in Ocho Rios 2 years in a row. On my second visit,I walked into the piano bar and the bartender remembered my name and said welcome home. Now that's the way I like to be treated! And it's not like I spent my entire time in the bar getting drunk. I also liked when getting a omelette made for me in the mornings, the lady would recognize me and ask if I wanted the same kind as the day before. It's great that they have that personal touch! If you treat Jamaican's with respect I'm sure they will return it. That could be said for anywhere in Jamaica. On or off the resort. This is a laid back island. I love the vibe from I get when in Jamaica. It keeps me coming back. When in Jamaica realize you are on vacation and on island time. People aren't going to jump right no things and the snap of your fingers, but they'll get to it and laid back way in Jamaican time. Just relax and enjoy life. Take your watch off and go with the flow. Vacations are what you make of them. I find Beaches to be fun, laid back, entertaining, relaxing, luxury, sincere, courteous, and everything I ever need. Great beach, great food, great drinks, great pools, great for both kids of all ages, and adults. You can't go wrong going here. I don't care where you travel, certain people can find things to complain about. Come people just can't be pleased. You're there to have fun. If you want to ruin your vacation looking for minor things to complain about, have at it but try not to drag others down with you.

Worst Experience for money spent EVER!!!!!
By ,
I have travelled extensively, and found this place along with the sandals resorts (in Jamaica) to be the worst resorts I have ever stayed in or visited. From the service to the food, to the entertainment.2 star quality at best. I found it simply amazing that the sandals/beaches are so expensive, only to be let done by lack of service.Take my advice, if your a traveller, steer clear of this resort.

Don't waste your money or time
By ,
We are experienced travelers, and I am amazed with some of the good reviews this resort has received. It makes me think the resort employees are filling out these reviews. This is the WORST resort we have ever been to. The brochures and pictures are extremely deceiving. Regarding dining options, there are not 6 restaurants, as claimed. The same restaruant will change the name in the daytime and evening, and hence "become" 2 different restaraunts. There was only one restuaraunt that families could go to that was air conditioned. It was not even cold. Food was poor quality, and service extremely poor. Regarding cleanlieness, we would leave our room at 9:00 am an return after 5:00 pm, and our room still was not cleaned or serviced. When we mentioned the poor service or anything else to the staff, they were not at all helpful, all the way up to the hotel manager. In fact, the hotel manager was not at all service-oriented. The pool swim-up bars would get dirty with all the straw wrappers, which were only picked up at night. By aftenoon, these bars looked disgusting and uninviting. There was no food served by the pool area, and no room service for the majority of guests. The workers are not all motivated to "service" the guest or their needs. They would shut down the water park if there was a little drizzle of rain, and stand around and talk the entire time, instead of picking up dirty towels and replacing them on chairs etc, or clean up all the garbage on the beach. They never even put new clean towels out. And they would shut down the waterpark every afternoon for 2 hours for lunch. Why does the waterpark need to close so early at 5p.m.? Just so the employees can go home and they can save money? NO water park in the states closes this early. This does not make sense at a resort. One should also note that you will get eaten alive by the bugs etc in Jamaica....no matter what kind of bug spray you use. This resort, over all,is dirty and run-down, and for what they charge, is in major need of upgrades and rennovations. I can honestly say that if anyone reviews this hotel well, then they need to have their head examined. At the Japanese restaurant, the employees sang at the top of their lungs during our entire dining experience. They couldn't carrry a tune, and I don't have a clue why they did this. I guess the management told them to have fun, but it was just very annoying to the guests. Songs like Country Roads??? It was a nightmare. We poured down sweat when the food was cooking. It wasn't anything as good as Beni Hana's. How disappointing.

absolutely great!!
By ,
We just came back from Beaches Negril and had a terrific time. The staff was outstanding and within a day they knew our names and what we drank. We took our 9 and 14 year olds with us and they had a blast. Much for them to do, nightclub, gameroom, DJ, watersports, beach volleyball, etc. We did not want to leave and are already planning our next year vacation at the same resort. The only thing I could say was next time we will book our vacation outside of rainy season. But even with the rain we loved it.

Heaven on Earth
By ,
Let me first start out by saying don't be scared when you read the negative reviews...there are some people in this world you just can't please...But for those of us who enjoy life!..This resort is for you. When you arrive in the airport the pampering starts..you are taking to a private waiting room offered cold drinks and light snacks..then you board a very comfortable bus that is run by japa tours..our driver explained everything we saw along the way..it was great! You arrive a Beaches Negril with a friendly staff waiting for you again offerd a cool drink and a fresh towel ..we were taking right to our room which was gorgeous..I tried to find somthing wrong I admit ..I looked very hard but in the end I could not find one thing I did not like about out room we stayed in room #827 it had 2 queen sized 4 poster beds with a beautiful view of the gazebo and ocean. Your room also come with full size bottles of shampoo and lotions...there is a small fridge stocked with juice, soda and water..beer is upon request and is free as well. We could not wait to see the beach after we got our suits on...This beach was voted one of the most 10 beautiful beaches in the world and when you see it for yourself you will know why....WOW!..Everything is included watersking, snorkeling, hoby cats..even a glass bottom boat ride for those who would rather not snorkel...If you can't find fun here then somthing is wrong.. The food is fabulous ..My family and I really enjoyed the Mill. Everyday the menu changes..You also must try Kimono's it is really fun. My 14yr old who is a very picky eater, even ate everything ...I could'nt believe it! Every night they slip a newsletter under your door letting you know all the next days events for all age groups ..Any where from 2 years to adult there is somthing going on for everyone...we really enjoyed the Beach Party Night ..They moved the entire Mill Restaurant outside onto the Beach...there was even fire dancers and a congo line for all the guests ..My teenage son's danced all night..it was Great! I can't tell you how much fun we had ..this resort thinks of everything ..One review I read said they hated the bugs..we found that yes there is mosquito's but as long as you apply bug spray you will be fine..I mean really you get the in your own backyard...One thing that we did that was helpful was bring bounce dryer sheets and put them between the blanket and the sheets..it's an old boy scout trick for repelling mosquito's ..trust me it really works and your room will smell fabulous! Really If you have any doubts about going ..Don't!.. you will have the vacation of a lifetime.. One thing I would like to add about the quality of service .... One evening my son walked away from where he said he would be..I was calling out his name and a groundskeeper was walking by on his cell phone, he got off his phone and asked me if I needed assistance. I saw my son and thanked him for his help...Think about where in america would someone these days get off their phone to help someone..and this man was a groundskeeper not a butler or waiter...everyone from the top to the bottom treats you like royalty ..we hated to leave ...even joked about coming home and forgetting to pay after dining out..Its weird to just get up from dinner with out paying... You will love this resort in everyway ...My family and I have stayed in a lot of places and this by far is the best .... YOU WILL LOVE IT !!

Not worth the price
By ,
We mainly went there because they had a club for teens which are hard to find. Lots of activities but the teen director sometimes did not show and events did not happen...all with no explanation. Disturbing was that other employees said the teen director should not be trusted. At other times, teen events (games, boat rises) went well and my kids had fun. My kids liked the speed boat ride to Ricks Cafe except they became scared because "almost flipped the boat twice" by doing sharp turns at high speeds. Rooms were clean if a little outdated. My wife dropped a glass and broke. After three requests over 24 hours to have a maid clean it for us we ended up stealing a vacuum from housecleaning and doing it ourselves. Not what you want to do when paying $600 a day. The resort is beautiful and well kept. Make reservations for snorkeling early. The beach activity's...kayaks, sunfish, floats were in good condition and we all had fun with those. Beach chairs and towels are in short supply after 10 am. Seems most guest go down about 7:30 am and reserve there spot then go back their room and/or breakfast. I can not blame the resort for this. The pools were never crowded and always clean. Good food...not great. Service at the restaurants varied from okay to good. Bar service was very good. The quality of the entertainment was a little disappointing. We paid to take their side trip to Rick's Cafe. (Do not take a local cab. We heard several stories of regret from those who had). Even though only 6 guest went, they still sent their photographer along. This is one of the best parts of our trip. The photographer was very nice and took great pictures which we have displayed at home. Oh yeah, dryers cost about $5 per 30 min! Overall, a great place but worth the high cost.

Horrible Horrible Resort!
By ,
Dirty rooms, terrible food, rude staff, rooms were broken into (3 rooms in our group as well as other vactationers during our stay) unsafe watersports. They do not spray for bugs, which were horrible. A staff member assulted a guest. A woman drowned due to complete negligence. There is no personal service, they do everything in groups. Lacking in night entertainment. Brochures are dated since most of the things they mention are not available, not to mention the appearance of the rooms. The pool was large and very dirty; they used a portable filtering device that was definitely not intended for a pool of that size.

I love love love this place!!!!!!!!!!!!
By ,
I loved the drink called the mickey mouse. It was the best drink ever. I loved the buffet because sometimes in the morning, they will have a bunch of frit and they will let the kids pick out what fruits they want and then they will put the fruit in the blender and mix it. Then they will give the drink to the person who asked for it. The beach is beautiful! Its never crowded. The people are so nice to you and always greet you and they act like family when you are there! I also liked the pizza at the little pizza place. The pizza was great. I remeber always getting pizza there at night then bringing it up to my room and sitting on the deck and eating it. The hotel is great for kids. The water slides, the lazy river, the pools, the beach, the delicous food. I got to say I would never forget this trip it was that good. It was really worth it. There are also wonderful shows with Elmo and Abby, Cookie Monster(which is now Veggie Monster), Ernie Bert and the whole gang was great and friendly and they would have shows every night. Oh, and the kids camp is great. In the Kids Camp, they dance play with the Characters, have snack time, go in the pool and the people even make new friends. I would think this was the best trip ever!
