Cornerstone Lodge Foley, Foley

This place has a very good location, right by Lamberts, Tanger mall and just 10 minutes from the beach BUT......This place is not only a hotel it is an extened stay hotel. The lobby closes at 8 p.m. so if you have a problem you'll have to wait till morning. NOW, for our stay...we arrived very anxious for the beach so, we didn't view our room real closely at check in, around 5:30pm, we threw one bag in the room and off to the beach we went. When we got back, thats when we seen how filthy the everything was. The floor was nasty with bad looking stains, the comforter and blanket were very stained up with mystery stains, the shower had at least a dozen hairs and pubes in it, the stove was rusted badly with crumbs all over it, and the edger of the carpet leading into the kitchen was gone which had stuff sticking out the jabbed my foot when I walked bare acrossed it. We went to Walmart and bought cleaner (scrubbing bubbles, fantastik, and clorox wipes) and started doing our own cleaning and it wasn't getting any better. I came across either mud or crap right on the floor by the toilet and edge of the shower while wiping down the bathroom floor which set me off !! The walls were also paper thin, when the people above us arrived at midnight, we could hear every step they made and also heard their TV and it was not turned up loud either. Since the lobby had closed (8pm) and the clerks went home for the evening, we had to wait till 8 am for them to return. The GM and I had a huge argument about receiving a refund. He said it is THEIR POLICY that they DO NOT refund or PRO RATE any weekly rates and made fun of me due to my "high standards." (POOP ON THE FLOOR I guess is too high of standards for this guy) In other words NO SATISFACTION GUARANTEED. He offered me a new room which was our only option whatsoever so I had no choice. My wife felt very unsafe upon going from our car to the room, but the hotel did have security cameras, obviously for a reason. The pool was very small and not worth a dip whatsoever. Our new room was cleaner and did, to an extent meet my "HIGH STANDARDS," but not enough to ever see myself back at that place ever again!!! If having a filthy old room, paper thin walls, poop on the bathroom floor, living in the projects, and stained up bed covers sounds good to you, then this place was only $270.00+tax per week. Not saying you'll have as bad a time as we had but I'd find somewhere else to stay if I were you.

This is the Cornerstone Lodge of Foley, not the Riviera. (If Yahoo reviews, please change name of this hotel). Location is awesome, 11 minutes to beach. Weekly rates after June?!! Yes! You will not get this ot of money, stay at a good hotel, and have plenty of money to spend on other stuff, like shopping at the Huge Outlet Mall, right around the corner, this will deal anywhere else in Foley, Gulf SHores or Orange Beach. I Paid $299 for a whole week for a King bed room, with kitchenette (stove, fridge, micro, big sink, cupboards), awesome force shower big enough for 2, ice cold A/C, nice 27" TV, Recliner, small table and chairs. Dial-up internet is just .50 if calling local. Nice pool on site, big laundry, 2 ice machines, 2 soda and 1 snack machines with great seection. You can walk to great restaurants. It's just off the beaten path, but if you want to save, I'd try to get a room here, and the staff is helpful and friendly.
