OMG where to begin. This place was a total dump. Lets start with the smell pool horrid our room smelled of sewage coming out of the 1 vent in the room that oh yeah surely didnt work for air conditioning it was extremely hot in the room. Found black mold in the bathroom behind the toilet that well geez they didnt even try to hide also the toilet backed up on us and maitenance simply handed us a plunger and said here you go and left. Unfortunately we were only a few rooms away from the laundry area that was obviously not set up to deal with all the rooms that they have because there was dirty laundry out on the sidewalk all day and most of the evening that we had to walk by. I was upset by the price of the place as well we stayed 5 nights @ almost $600 for what I dont know yet cuz there was nothing special at all about the place. It would of been nice to have some courtesy when they were told about the problems but no one seemed to care. I dont know about the wireless problems that others had, but they do have a computer to access in the front that just seemed to be hooked up to dial-up took forever to get on it. With the rates that they charging around here I hope they deal with peoples concerns and fix the problems. As for us well we wont be back.

This hotel was not at all what I had expected. The pictures in the SD vacation guide and on the internet were very deceiving! It looks nice in pictures but not in person. It was dirty, smelly, and outdated. Very overpriced for what you get. Some of the staff were very nice, but some were not. A few nice things: the pool was nice and big, and the breakfast was nice.

usually don't complain about subpar service at hotels, but I will make this the exception. Here's what was good about the Quality Inn - its location off of the interstate and a big pool. Now, the reasons for me writing the review... We stayed in a new or newly acquired annex of some sort. It smelled strongly of fresh paint and wet sheetrock. Half of the parking lot was taken up by some sort of storage or garbage unit, making it difficult to navigate the parking lot. Because of the area where our room was located, our walk to the pool and front desk area was a literal 5 minutes one way. And, because room access at the Quality Inn is outdoors, there were no internal hallways through which to make this trek. Add to the dilemma 3 days straight of rainy weather, and the walk to the pool involved dressing kids in coats and shoes and jumping over puddles. The drawers on the dresser in our room were an absolute pain in the neck to open, like they were off their rails or something. Noisy and frustrating. The TV lineup included a whopping 25 channels, or something like that. It rained in Rapid City while we were there. Our window leaked and created a cute little puddle on the window sill where we had placed some of our stuff. Nice. Tried all weekend to access the wireless network at the hotel. Got the username and password from the front desk, but I was never able to log on because either the maximum number of uses were logged on or there were too many people trying to log on simultaneously. I'm talking probably 20 attempts over three days. Saturday morning fire alarm. At 5:30 a.m., my wife and our three small children were awoken by a fire alarm. No staff member alerted us to the cause for concern, nobody told us when it was safe to go back in. We sat in our cold van, pajama'd kids wrapped in blankets, for 20 minutes. We waited for two of the fire trucks to turn around and assumed it was a false alarm. Hot breakfast "buffet." If by buffet, they mean toast, english muffins, fruit loops and a pan of scrambled eggs, then it was a buffet. Perhaps we arrived too late in the morning to enjoy some soggy sausage or fresh fruit, but if they say it's open til 9:00, then 8:45 shouldn't be too late to get good food. We went out to eat the next day. Room SELF service. After a long day of touring area kids stuff, we arrived back at the hotel at about 3:30 in the afternoon to lay the kids down for naps. Nothing had been done with our room! Beds still unmade. Wet bathroom towels and pool towels still stinking up the bathroom. Garbage cans with poopy baby diapers still sitting full. The housekeeper was putzing around next door, in an empty room, so I grabbed my own towels. She responded by saying, "Oh is that all you need? Towels?" I wanted to tell her that her job actually entailed keeping house, but obviously intelligence was not her strong suit. I have stayed at very good Quality Inns, like in Billings, Montana, for example. But I will never again stay at this Rapid City Quality Inn. I would recommend that you avoid it at all costs.

i booked a smoking room off the this site.the picts look like it was a nice hotel i paid 3 hundred for 3 nights.it does smell like clorine bad when you walk in tho.anyway we went to check in and they said our room was in another building next to the mail part.so for me to go to da front desk and the pool we would have to walk across the parking lot to do it.it was like i was segregated for some reason.the room was nice but make sure where you are saying.

My 2yr old loved the pool but... 1. Order pizza from the bar as recomended by the front desk. It was a frozen pizza, still frozen in the center. 2. Free Hot breakfast is a zoo. Only 2 guys working the show, not enough food to go around. The natives got restless. 3. Promised my 2yr old Horton Hears a who. When we turned the Tv on the movie channel was shut off. I called 4 times and after a temper tantrum and getting my kid to sleep finally the called me back. 4. On-line photos look nice but this place is Da-ted. build circa 1980 and not updated. $100 a night...for this service I could have stayed at motel 6! Un impressed. Do yourself a favor and stay in Keystone.

When you first arrive from off I-90, this Quality Inn looks bustling and elegant. However, seasoned travelers will realize that once you're inside, it's actually an aging Holiday Inn Holidome from the 1960's. This one is not very well-kept. Our family stayed in a room that had hair in the corners of the bathroom, stained sheets on the bed, and ugly green wallpaper. The room also was small for the price, though a fridge and microwave come standard. The pool is old and dirty. One thing to note: the main building is the actual "dome" part; the newer annex building to the south may be nicer, so check this part out before totally disregarding the place. The breakfast is okay at best and the convention facilities can be quite loud. Overall, it looks more attractive outside than it actually is, so you're better off staying somewhere else, but try the new part first.

The room needed some cleaning and renovating. Well worn hotel. Looks better from the outside. Too many children at pool. The lobby smelled very strongly of chlorine. We killed numerous bugs in the room. Had to buy a towel to cover the desk chair because there was a huge stain on the seat. The food line was not adequate for the number of people. Food was usually cold, and they ran out of certain things. We expected more for the over $100 per night we stayed.

We booked our reservations for a NON-SMOKING room a couple of months ahead of time thru the 800#. When we arrived we were told we had a SMOKING room. The girl at the desk said they were all booked up and had to switch us. I asked to speak to the manager, but she was not in. The person I did speak to was not pleasant at all. We were very upset and she made it even worse. At the same time there was someone who had a non-smoking room but said the airconditioning was not working, and the room was very hot. He left. They said we could have the room and the airconditioning was working, but when we saw it it was obvious it was not working right because it was hot. They did change everything in the smoking room, but you could still tell it was smoking. They did not try to accommodate us any further, and we would not have gotten a refund if we left. When we got to the room we called the 800 reservation number and asked them to check the reservation. They said we were supposed to have a non-smoking room. The next morning I asked for the manager again, and got someone else. She was as unpleasant as the one the night before. This motel was the only unpleasant experience across the country. WOULD NEVER GO BACK THERE.

This hotel is centered around the main attractions in Rapid City. It is neat and clean. Don�t forget that it has a nice swimming pool, hot tub and pool table. Its nice for the kids and to spend some late evenings. Good that they have complementary breakfast, but it�s the same breakfast menu everyday. It would be nice if they can change the menu. If someone is staying for many days, it gets kind of boring. Apart form this, it�s excellent.
