Howard Prince Hotel, Taichung City

The Howard Prince Hotel is a great place to stay in Taichung for business travelers. I traveled there for business in March and the rooms are enormous; my personal room was nearly 500 square feet. The restaurants, spa, gym and amenities added to my experience. There are a variety of hot pools and the men's spa offers relaxing leather chairs with individual LCD screens and DVD players. The staff is friendly and eager to help with taxis and local sightseeing. Also, the free shuttle to the high speed rail provides easy access to Taipei. An entire trip door to door from Taichung to Taipei can be achieved in about an hour. Furthermore, the first floor cafe has one of the best beef noodle soups I have had in Taiwan (and I have had several bowls of noodles though my wanderings in Taichung and Taipei). The restaurant on the top floor has a pretty good Three Cup Chicken, and the hotel is situated some small local shops specializing in dumplings, baked pastries, and most importantly, spicy hot pot. I would not hesitate to stay at the Howard Prince Hotel again.

The service and hospitality were fantastic. Howard Plaza Hotels are legendary for authentic Taiwanese service and the Howard Prince in Taichung surpassed my expectations. We were immediately greeted at the front door, and the staff was always attentive without being overbearing. Each meal and walk in the lobby was greeted with a smile and helpful person. The rooms were spacious! Very clean - which is of utmost importance to me. The beds were also surprisingly comfortable, I wished I had more time to just hang out but I was there to explore. We ate at most of the restaurants which had a good variety - to the point where you almost never need to leave the hotel. So it's a good choice for stressed out working professionals/yuppies who need a weekend getaway. My favorites were the 2F buffet which serves breakfast, lunch & dinner and also the 16F "Ocean Reef" restaurant which has a large variety and not just seafood. I'm definitely going back soon!!

We booked online and got a great deal. We arrived an hour before check in time so they bought us drinks at the bar while we waited and they also upgraded our room to deluxe. The buffet breakfast had a big selection of western and eastern style food. Outdoor pool, spa, exercise facilities, room service, internet, many restaurants, great service and more. We recommend this hotel to anyone! Located on AnHe Rd and Fue Rd. close to Tunghai University and $220 taxi ride to ChaoMa Bus station. Beds were the most comfortable we've had since our stay in Taiwan.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Better than the Grand Hyatt in Taipei at 1/3 the cost. Included breakfast was excellent. Working so I didn't go out much but a couple of bars across the street are a hoot.

I have stayed there numerous times and every time I can depend on Having a good clean room, excellent service and a very friendly staff. I will be back soon.
