best hotel in town

The Miraflores was an unexpected delight. We stayed 3 nights in mid-September 2005, and returned for a day room before our departure from Peru.
We really use a hotel's facilities and services and found Miraflores to be excellent in every category.
This is not a hotel for tour groups. You will get outstanding personal service. I think what we really liked best about the service was the sincerity behind it. Every request was treated with a smile and helpful, confident efficiency. This hotel helped shaped our very positive opinions of Peru and Orient Express Hotels.
Check in is a calm and personal affair with refreshments served - even at 2 am. The hotel is well located in a quiet district by the coast and near a very nice shopping center.
The hotel itself is handsome and quite stylish in a calm way. The rooms are large and very comfortable with beautiful views of the coastline - think San Francisco fog over Malibu's coastal drive. We were upgraded to a suite for our day room upon return this included a 6 diameter tub along with a sauna and were so sad to leave, to spend the night on the plane.
Something everyone comments on in this hotel is the great SHOWERS! The shower is an overhead sunflower type with no water restriction. It's an all out deluge.
Jessica in the Business lounge was great in arranging our express mail packages, faxes, internet usage as well as making some great travel arrangements for us in Machu Picchu coordinated with their sister hotel Monestario.
Sadly the pool on their gorgeous rooftop deck was under repair during our stay, but the new fitness room was more than adequate. The manager apologized profusely about the pool, was very helpful and gracious.
Breakfasts next to the sunny rooftop deck were very good and the service was excellent.
The bar serves the best Pisco Sours I have ever had.
We had incredibly fresh and delicious seafood at the dining room along with great service. The ceviche, scallops in the shell, grilled octopus, sea bass, crab fingers, et al, fantastic. The sea bream encrusted in salt is the best I have had anywhere, ever, and I thought that is was a Turkish specialty.
A great hotel!
