Esplanade Hotel, Bray

My daughter and I were visiting different places that day, and although things didn't go as planned, some good and some not so good, when we arrived at the Best Western things immediately changed for the better. We were greated by a charming young lady, who made us feel very welcomed. Our room was very nice, clean and cozy. The view was spectacular, the breakfast was delicious. The next morning, the same young lady, had listed some local tourist attractions, the directions, and offered any other help. I would recommend to anyone who needs a relaxing evening, they won't be disappointed here.

We visited Bray for new years, 2008 and were thrilled with the ocean view, quaint seaside town and pleasantness of the staff. The hotel is cheery, well kept and busy for the off season. It is a short walk from Bray Head hill that holds a commanding view of the local landscape (definitely ask someone to explain the path so you don't go up the seaside path into the thistle like we did!). It is also located near several pubs that boast a interesting nightlife afterhours. The traditional Irish breakfast included a large selection of breakfast items and we were pleasantly surprised to see it served to 10:30 for those late risers on vacation. A full bar serves a fabulous weekend brunch menu that is among the best we sampled on our trip. A wonderful place for weddings and bridal showers and it seems like there was a wedding party each night. If you're staying for new years day, definitely join the locals for the new years day Bray sea swim; a fun gathering to support the local lion's club. This event features brave men and women of Bray, many outfitted in whimsical costumes, for a brisk plunge in the Irish sea. I did it and have the certificate to prove it!
