Grand Hotel of Wildwood Crest, Wildwood Crest

We didnt even stay at this dump for a night. We walked in and found four roaches on the door. There were more cockroaches on the TV + in the shower. The beds? Not made. Ripped. No sheets, just a blanket with stains and cigarette burns and a mattress. Curtains ripped. Floor tiles...many of them gone. We checked out four hours later. It's gone now, this dumb, thank God...

Around Summer of 1996 my mom booked The Grand out there in Wildwood Crest and it was horrible I hated the place it was not nice at all.It smelled it was sceve.We just got back from Wildwood Crest today and as we were driving from Bal harbour where we stayed to Wawa we passed The Grand and Ia m so happy to see that place going down.I wish i was still there to watch it be demolished.I'd demolish the place myself if I could. What a dump.

I have been going to The Grand Hotel since I was a child. I don't think any hotel or motel in Wildwood Crest has a pool like it. It's huge and clean. The hotel is literally on the beach and has an indoor pool and excellent HOT jacuzzi. The last time I went was about 3 years ago and I never had a bad experience. Last year I found out it was closed down and had to go to another hotel...the hotel I went to was no comparison The Grand. The whole family agreed that The Grand was the best hotel in Wildwood Crest. Been going there for years.

WE TOOK THE KIDS TO WHAT WE THOUGHT WOULD BE A WONDERFULL HOTEL "GRAND" IN A EFFICIENCY SUITE FOR OUR 5 DAY STAY IN WILDWOOD CREST. MAKING THE RESERVATION SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE 1ST SIGN RIGHT THEN AND THERE THAT I WAS MAKING A BIGGGGG MISTAKE. THATS ANOTHER STORY. WE PULLED IN AND ONE OF THOSE CARTS FOR LUGGAGE WAS OUTSIDE AND AS WE PULLED INTO OUR SPOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS ROLLED OFF THE CURB AND LANDED ON OUR 3YR AND THE NEW CAR. 3YR GOT BLACK AND BLUE AND THE CAR GOT 2,200 IN DAMAGE WHICH I HAD TO PAY. ANYWAY WE LOOKING FOWARD TO CHECKING IN TO START OUR WONDERFUL VACA. WE HAD TO WAIT 30 MIN FOR SOMEONE TO COME TO FRONT DESK. KIDS WERE ANTSIE. WE GOT TO THE ROOM (VIEW WAS NICE) BUT I SENT MY HUSBAND OUT FOR WINDEX, CLOROX, FANTASTIC AND LOTS A PAPER TOWELS.THANK GOD I BROUGHT MY OWN SHEETS, TOWELS AND PILLOWS. MAKE A REAL LONG STORY SHORT WE HAD TO STICK IT OUT.. PIER 6600 NEXT DOOR WAS BOOKED COULDNT GET IN. WOW NICE PLACE... BOOKING IT NEXT TIME. I HOPE THEY KNOCKED IT DOWN.

2 years ago in the beginning of summer, My Ex took me to the Grand Hotel and it was my 1st time in Wildwood. When we got there, The room we checked into was on the 5th floor and there was towels on the balcony and the room was messy. Seems like the staff didn't get the chance to clean the room. I went down to the front desk, and seen this Beautiful Blond that was behind it and she was very friendly and there was an older lady that was the mgr of the place and I explained the problem we had and she apologized for the problem and told me that we can pick any room on the 5th floor and then come back to her and she would give the key to that room to us. So we picked a room and it was nice and had a beautiful view of the beach...the TV worked fine as well as the refridge and the bathroom was clean the beds were hard as a rock, which killed my sleep but I would never have left and the rooms were cleaned every day, the beds made, and clean towels provided also mgt was very nice to us and always asked if we needed anything, we can just ask!!. At that time, if I was single I would have chased after the beautiful blond... she was A 10++ The rest of the building was as follows: hallways were not that bright, and I remember the vending machines were working and there was ice if needed and the indoor pool was clean and Jacuzzi was hot as hell!! There was a indoor bar with a disco ball and that area was dead as a cemetery, reminded me that it was the 70's all over again. The place could be updated but the place fits in well due to Wildwood being as dated as it is... Over all, I did have a great time there and I Do cherish my memories at the Grand Hotel and I can only speak for myself, I had fun there and I miss It. I hope the Grand Hotel Is Restored and not torn down as for what I was told. It Would Be Very Sad If Its Gone.

I have a soft spot for the Grand because I was a waitress there in 1979 when it was called the Holiday Inn. I went back for the first time in '96. At that time it was in need of updating so we did not stay there for the next few years, but last year my sister and I spent a few days there. When I called to book the reservations I was told they had updated the rooms. I think it was fine, and clean. The jersey shore is a place to relax and enjoy the beach. I like the fact that it is a bit dated still. It's part of the charm. For me it brings back great memories of my "Wildwood Days"

There is nothing to like about Grand Hotel. Most of their rooms were dirty. They didn't have phone and tv remote in the room. There indoor pool and jacuzzi were always cold. When you go to the indoor pool your eyes would burn. It was like that for everyone who went indoors. There outdoor pool was nothing but dirty with dead bugs in them and really cold. The only nice thing about the hotel was the outdoor poolbar. At night when went to sleep there refrigerator opened by itself. They had drinks and music there. That was the only good thing about it. They never had ice, there vending machines were empty. The gift shop was always closed. Whenever you go to the front desk no one was there.

Cancelled my reservation last July. They are liars and crooks. Never send me my money back.

I stayed here two years ago and would NEVER go back. First of all, their air conditioning system was BROKE! It was so hot, it was terrible. Secondly, I lost my gold bracelet I just got for mother's day a few weeks before we went and when I went to the front desk to describe it, they told me great news that they found it in their indoor pool! Well, I thought wonderful and when I asked where it was, they told me they didn't know where the girl put it. Another employee told me she heard the employee tell her that she was going to wear it home so it would be safe. (safe????). I told them that they need to call her immediately. When they did, she claimed that she put it in the container on the desk with all the pens and pencils. What ever happened to a lost and found area? After many requests to speak to a manager, they told me she wasn't there. I went back and an hour later and still no satisfaction. We had to contact the Wildwood Police Department and they made the comment, "not the Grand again....!" They said they had so many complaints about this hotel, it is unreal. They came to the hotel and questioned the employee who coincidentally had about 15 gold bracelets up her arm and claims she has her one money to buy her bracelets, she doesn't need to steal any. Well, by her appearance, she was definitely the type that would steal and it sure didn't look like she had money. Anyway the Wildwood Police Department is certainly keeping their eye on this hotel. Definitely find another hotel!

I stayed at The Grand 2 summer's ago and will never stay again, the rooms smelled, the bathroom had cigarette burns all over the room, Channel 10 news Philadelphia did a special on this dump. The only good thing was that it had an ok swimming pool, but who knows what kind of germs are festering in the water.
