Knights Inn Athens, Athens

The room we were given was in the back of the hotel, what seemed like an old mobile home. Room smelled musty, no hot water for morning shower, not worth the money. Bathroom was dirty and old, whole unit definitely needs remodeling. Would not recommend.

We were put in what looked to be a portable building behind the main hotel. We walked in and walked out and they had already charged my card for the complete stay. Claimed they couldn't credit it back that I had to call the 800 Knights Inn number. This was a lie and was confirmed by the representative I talked to on the 800 number.

This was honestly the worst hotel I've ever been to.The workers were not very friendly and charged us more than we were suppose to pay.We stayed in a room that was behind the building.The room looked good at first but it had a terrible smell.Then we realized that the shower was dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned before we came.There was dirt on the floor and the chairs looked old and run down.The beds also looked like they had not been changed or cleaned.Then we noticed that even the towels that were in our room were dirty! We had to go to the nearby walmart to buy new towels to use and fabreeze to spray in the room. Also the free wireless internet did not work. I don't recommend this place to anyone.

We stayed here 2 years ago and the had really bad exp. after 2 years we were driving by athens and wanted a see our friends daughter and thought we'll stay a night some where where its not too costly but good rooms. And we drove by knights inn and we thought lets stop by and see if its a same owner and lucky it was different owner. SO we stayed there and it was nice. rooms were clean and nice with new carpet and new linen sheets and bed spreads... next morning break fast was great too.. staff was great and very nice and helpful. i would for sure stay here next time. and even share with my friends too... I was shocked with the bad reviews when i read them and then it looked like all the people who has wrritten bad reviews were the ones who wanted to to pay 60-70 bucks per night and get room like Hilton Resorts... all i can say is dont go by the bad reviews for this hotel go by good ones. tammy.buerxcer.

I have family in Athens so this was the cheapest hotel we found near their house. We stayed here during Thanksgiving 08 and it was a horrible experience. The hotel manager wanted us to pay $10.00 for my 15 year old to sleep there. I thought children were free. There was carpet pieces in the corner of our room. The free internet did not work. He watched us out of his window when we would leave. He yelled at us in front of my child. The restroom was digusting and cold. Once I called and complained to the Knights Inn 1800 number he came knocking on our door. After the first night we were going to check out but he had already charged our card for both nights. Hopefully I won't ever have to stay there again.

My wife and I were spending a few days in Athens. Were scared off by some previous reviews of this place, but didn't want to spend twice the price somewhere else so we braved it. We were very pleasantly suprised. The place is under new ownership and they are clearly putting a lot of work into the place from the rooms to the landscaping. Anyone who plants that many rosebushes clearly cares about the place. The rooms were simple, clean, and comfortable. No luxury resort to be sure, but a great value for clean and simple room for an inexpensive stay. If thats what your looking for, I'd highly recommend. I'm giving four stars for value, and to balance some of the previous reviews which almost scared us off. Glad we saved the money.

The only thing good was the price. The rooms are not very clean. The doors look like they have been broken into and they don't seem to protect anybody occupying the room. It would be better to pay more and stay at someplace safer and cleaner.

I must say the staff,were over and beyond helpful,friendly,appreciated to all there guest.All rooms are clean and new linen with new Mattresses,Carpets,Bathrooms/Showers/TV's. Thank you Bruce,Zip and Becky/Maggie/Shirley/Tom and Brent. Highly recommended for all future guests.Not over priced,but reasonable.

The service was absolutely horrible. The staff was rude and unhelpful. The room cost me $93 a night and was filthy dirty, had stains on the bed linens, smelled musty and dirty and I saw bugs. I actually ended up here by accident - I had a reservation at a hotel with a similar name and made a mistake by checking in here. When they didn't have my reservation, I explained there must be a mistake and they lied to me saying I was at the right hotel, never mentioning that I might have a reservation at the other hotel with the similar name. They were downright rude and beligerent when I discovered my error. Whatever you do, don't stay here!

This hotel was terrible. The room was dirty and smelled. There was a huge hole in the ceiling and the walls were paper thin. We not only felt dirty after staying here we felt very unsafe staying there. Although it costs us only $73 a night, it was not worth $10. I would not recommend staying at this hotel ever!
