The Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel & Casino is a delightfully captivating upscale hotel with the best location in the island. Located in the heart of picturesque Old San Juan, a city as rich in history as it is in culture. A completely unique location highlights spectacular views of the bay and puts you mere cobblestones away from over 200 restaurants, pubs, 16th century Spanish fortresses, fascinating museums, art galleries and world-class shopping This is a 465-year-old neighborhood originally conceived as a military stronghold. Its 7-square-block area has evolved into a charming residential and commercial district. The streets here are paved with cobblestones, a blue stone cast from furnace slag. The city includes more than 400 carefully restored 16th- and 17th-century Spanish colonial buildings. The Old San Juan attracts many tourists, who also enjoy the gambling casinos, fine beaches, and tropical climate. More tourists visit San Juan each year than any other spot in the Caribbean. To really do justice to these wonderful old sites, you'll need at least two mornings or a full day. The nerve my wife is natural blonde.even if this were the case which its not, there are no signs warning of this.terrible weekend i will never go back.they also charged us for valet.after arguing they removed the charges we took a cab and did not park a car!!!!!!

Lost Their Chance
By ,
We actually didn't get to stay there at all! But I can give a review of my first impression which was horrible! I had called prior to arriving at the hotel to get a price quote (we were willing to splurge for some nights on a really nice hotel). When we arrived, there was over $150 in 'taxes' tacked on to the price I was given over the phone. When I asked the rather rude gentleman behind the counter what sort of taxes they were, he couldn't really give me a breakdown. None of the other hotels we stayed at while in Puerto Rico had such gratiutous fees - even the fancier ones. The lobby was nice enough, but the loud casino also located on the first floor was kind of a turnoff.

need more check-in and check-out help when cruise ships come in and depart
By ,
We enjoyed our stay, but the place is a zoo at check in and check out. Food was delicious but very expensive. Would go again but plan for more time at arrival and departure. Great place for getting a cab and touring Old San Juan. Had a wonderful time!

My wife and I went in June of 2003 and this hotel was busy with cruise ships coming in. The whole team down there treated everybody so nice.

the most horrible hotel
By ,
I stayed there for two nights, ech night they charge me $179. for that price, my room smells mold, I called to the front desk, then they told me all the room smell like mold, they come to spread some air freshner, which smell so stincky, and cheap, that I almost want to omit. It's the most horrible hotel that i have ever lived, not worth at all. I will not come back again that's for sure

Enjoyable stay
By ,
We arrived late at night and were given a nice room with partial view and balcony. Very clean and comfortable. There were two other couples with us and both of their rooms were very nice also. On our return from our cruise we stayed two more nights. Two of the rooms they gave us on the second stay only had a view of the parking lot. We both asked to be changed and they did it very promptly. We asked for the balcony rooms and they said they were full and also we had been upgraded to those rooms on our first stay. We didn't realize the upgrade, but it was nice. The location is wonderful when taking a cruise. The ship docked right across the street from the hotel. Also, many good restaurants in the area and everything is in walking distance. Some of the restaurants that we enjoyed: Baru, The Bakery (La Bombonera) Racines and The Parrot Club. The outdoor restaurant at the hotel was terrible. We ended up walking out because no would acknowledge us.
