Super 8 Hollywood, Hollywood

I definitely agree with the postings other people placed on this motel. Everything the website says on this motel are lies. First of all, the pictures they put on the website are totally deceiving. You can't see the Hollywood sign as they tell you, there are no free wireless in every room, there is a pay by the minute computer in the lobby which is sooooooo slow and old, the room stinks like pee, the floors are sticky, the bed is rock hard and bed sheets has stains on it, the fridge don't really work, the towels are old and stained, ice machine is on the second floor and vending machines doesn't work (makes no sense why they put vending machine on first floor and ice machine on second floor in a four story place), and the free breakfast they claim is made up of donuts, coffee and cereal. Most importantly, if they find out that you are a tourist, they will change the motel rates without warning. We have a AAA discount and they wouldn't honor it just because they don't want to honor it. Try and argue that over a bullet proof glass (no wonder). We found six other motels around the area and found very reasonable rates and more pleasant than this Super 8 dump.

My boyfriend and I wanted an inexpensive place to stay for 2 days while we went to Universal Studios and toured around Hollywood. We chose Super 8 because it was close to places we wanted to see and the pictures on the website looked decent. When we got to the room there were no towels and the bathroom was just awful. It felt like a dirty public restroom. The shower walls had mildew on them and the floor felt sticky. When we actually got towels there were dirty stains on them. The bed was also hard as a rock. We will never stay at Super 8 again. We will stick to Motel 6 instead.

We were sent to this motel after the room we booked at the Hollywood Downtowner was over-sold. I will not stay here again! It is absolutely disgusting. The room extremely small and was dirty, and it stunk like a mixture of old man cologne and a garbage dumpster. The furniture looked as if they pulled it out of a dumpster. There was mold in the bathroom and the toilet seat kept sliding off the toilet. The free continental breakfast was stale. The parking lot is obnoxiously small........ I could go on and on but I hope you get the picture!

the hotel is above a bar that plays music at night and that was really disturbing. Front desk staff was nice and friendly. Good spot to stay at for Hollywood stuff

It was just "ok" the price and location were great. But we kept seeing roaches get on and off the elevators while we were there!

This is one of those places that looks a lot better on paper than it actually is. I spent 4 nights there - Monday 3/15/04 to Friday 3/19/04. I originally selected this place because it had a refrigarator in the room. "Great," I thought, I can save money by buying sandwiches instead of going to a resturant. Sure enough the room had a refrigarator, a 2.1 cu ft "bar" model, which preformed like a champ. Too bad there were several other things that were less than optimal. The motel lists cable TV as one of its perks. Unfortunately half the cable channels were out of order when I was there, downcheck. The Queen bed was like sleeping on a steel shelf or a monk's rock bed. I mean sure some people like a firm mattress, but this was beyond firm, to the point of being more like a mideval torcher device, downcheck. The room WAS soundproof. A good thing too because it was right next door to an active construction site, with +90 db noise from 6am to after sunset. Thank God for sound proofing. Up Check. There are three supermarkets, including a Ralph's and a Food 4 Less within two blocks of the motel, and there is a Sav-On drugstore a half block away. Easy to stock the refrigarator. Up check. But the worst thing was there was NO radio reception there. There was a clock radio in the room and I had brought my own boombox. Both AM and FM bands were wiped out with a loud 60 Hz buzz. Maybe from construction site. But for someone like me who likes to listen to the radio in the wee hours this was the thing that made this four-day mini-vacation a huge waste of time for me.
