You can't call a crap a "Royal Regency"
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/21/09
I was visiting NYC with my family members. We decided to stay at the Royal Regency Hotel. Upon entering there was nobody to be found in the lobby who could assist us to the reservation desk. finally we went upstair and again to our surprise a girl behind the desk was talking over her cell phone and did not greet us even after she had looked at us. we stood there for atlease 5 minutes and waited for her to finish her conversation with her boyfriend. It seemed to us that we bothered her by the way she attended to us. Rude and impolite. We checked into our room and to our surprise, the room was not even close to be cleaned. There was some kind of odor and we found dirty underwear in one of the drawer. We reported this to the front desk and asked to speak to the general manager but he/she was nowhere to be found. I told the front desk to please have the general manager give us a call. To this day we have not heard from the manager. The front desk rudely told us the there was nothing she could do and if we did not like the hotel there is Ramada Inn across the street and we can go there. Thats exactily what we did. We took our four rooms to the next door hotel where we were treated like a guest should be. My family is planning a big wedding this year for their daughter about 500 people with lots of overnight rooms, ofcourse we will take our business somewhere else but defenitely not at This Royal Regency 'Crap". We have forwarded this letter to BBB,Chamber of Commerce,AAA. and also to our community members. rest assure they will NEVER stay at the Crapy Regency Hotel ever. John,Hampton,NH

It was the best hotel ever!!
By saadiya, 07/03/09
My family and I went there for one week. The staff were all wecloming. Also when we went for breakfast it was like a buffet, there so many choses that lasted us throughout the whole day. My baby sis needed her milk warmed up and the staff were very kind enough to help us with that. It looked just as nice from the outside as the inside. There was dominos pizza right in front of it. Overall only a picky person would rate this hotel a 1.

good place to stay in NY
By visiting_ny, 09/05/08
Had a very comfortable stay for 3 days with family and kids, last month. We had planned a vaction with 4 other families and all stayed in the same hotel and everyone liked it very much. The rooms are large, excellent service and the front desk staff was very friendly. We would stay again and would recommend others as well. By far this is our best experience at a hotel.

Bad Customer Service
By Nee, 08/19/08
The wait staff never smiled, was slow to clean off the tables and did not serve the guest with respect. . I was also afraid for the safety of my children . The hotel had NO securtiy to control the mob that was fighting in the lobby . The rooms were not clean. the bathroom was dingy and the bed was lumpy. The next morning we discovered that one of our vehicles were vandalised during the melee last night. When the staff was alerted about the damaged they were rude and offered no assistance. They have no respect for the customers. That subway would have been a better place to sleep.

Could not wait to CHECK OUT, what a disaster
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/01/08
Having worked abroad for many years and stayed in many hotels worldwide, unfortunately I / we were requested to book in there as we were attending a wedding locally, thankfully not at this venue. A large group travelling from Ireland, many for the 1st time spend a number of nights there some with young children, found this hotel not only old, drab unfriendly, unco-operative and very poor ameninties available, would not recommend this hotel to stay in. The vending machine ran out of bottled water for 2 nights which was unacceptable as there was no room service, when asked for milk to add to our tea at reception (as no beverages available after 9p.m) we were advised to cross the highway to purchase it in the nearby garage???? The bar opens from 4.30pm - 9.30p.m. only . Room were clean enough, basic!! Swipe for door of almost our bedrooms had to be re-validated at reception every time you left your room. Breakfast was very basic buffet, but only paper cups available, No facilities for a young family, not a seat outside to even enjoy the sun! I could go on about being overcharged etc. but this would take all day! As I stated I couldn't wait to get out, only stay there if you are desperate not for a holiday, Ramada behind was better solution for most, I just moved back into the city. (Fitzpatricks a must! ) When we looked for a manager the only person was a young plesent girl only recently in the position, who tried her best to represent the hotel. As I said only stay there if you are desperate! I know we are Irish but you wouldn't find a hotel (if that what you rate this hotel) in any part of Ireland like this, it would be closed down!!! Come to Ireland and see real hospitality, friendly and amenities that make a holiday.

Great Hotel, not far the city
By dritak, 06/14/08
I often visit New York from Michigan, I enjoy the city very much , at times you just need to have peace and quiet and the only time I spend at the hotel in New York City is when I am about to go to sleep, so being directly in the city around all the noise is not to appealing to me, Royal Regency is close enough to the city, yet far enough to avoid the noise, The prices are great, anyone that asks me where is there a good, clean not expensive hotel to stay at in New York, I would recommend Royal Regency....

Royal Dump
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/07
This place is a dump. Holes in the walls, a stinch throughout the hall ways and rooms, rats can be heard scurrying in the walls, drunks yelling outside all night, broken equipment, dripping faucets. They've done work on the exterior to make it look nice, but that's the extent of it. Even the sheets stink. You DO NOT want to even think about staying at this place. It should be closed down.

Don't Go Here
By wolf, 09/10/07
We called to book a room for a wedding we were to attend. When booking, we specified that we needed a handicap accessable room, and were told that it would not be a problem. On arrival, the entrance to the building was under re-construction, and we were told we could not enter as it was too dangerous. We were instructed to use the rear entrance. The rear entrance was a flight of steps with shakey handrails and no ramp. I watched a woman with a walker take 5 minutes to descend the steps while an employee stood watching, but not helping. Inside the rooms were dirty with a strong smell of cleaning solution. I would not recommend this hotel.
