Could not wait to CHECK OUT, what a disaster

Having worked abroad for many years and stayed in many hotels worldwide, unfortunately I / we were requested to book in there as we were attending a wedding locally, thankfully not at this venue. A large group travelling from Ireland, many for the 1st time spend a number of nights there some with young children, found this hotel not only old, drab unfriendly, unco-operative and very poor ameninties available, would not recommend this hotel to stay in. The vending machine ran out of bottled water for 2 nights which was unacceptable as there was no room service, when asked for milk to add to our tea at reception (as no beverages available after 9p.m) we were advised to cross the highway to purchase it in the nearby garage???? The bar opens from 4.30pm - 9.30p.m. only .
Room were clean enough, basic!! Swipe for door of almost our bedrooms had to be re-validated at reception every time you left your room. Breakfast was very basic buffet, but only paper cups available, No facilities for a young family, not a seat outside to even enjoy the sun! I could go on about being overcharged etc. but this would take all day! As I stated I couldn't wait to get out, only stay there if you are desperate not for a holiday, Ramada behind was better solution for most, I just moved back into the city. (Fitzpatricks a must! )
When we looked for a manager the only person was a young plesent girl only recently in the position, who tried her best to represent the hotel. As I said only stay there if you are desperate!
I know we are Irish but you wouldn't find a hotel (if that what you rate this hotel) in any part of Ireland like this, it would be closed down!!!
Come to Ireland and see real hospitality, friendly and amenities that make a holiday.
