Broken Hearted Grandkids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/24/07
We were not given adjoining rooms with internal connecting door as I had arranged weeks before over the phone with the desk clerk. This complicated the sleeping arrangements with three small grandchildren and ruined the concept of "family on vacation".
The swimming pool, although open was not cleaned in the two days we were there and the pump was not running. There was trash on the pool deck and leaves in the bottom of the pool. The grandkids had waited weeks to go swimming "on vacation".
I trusted Holiday Inn to be better than this as I am a frequent "Gold" traveler. I will have to reconsider my options in the future to avoid further disappointment.
The breakfast bar was good, but the space provided to eat was small and cramped. The bar attendants spent more time laughing and talking in the back room, with the door open, then they spent in serving the paying customer. Parking was marginal.
The elevator was marginal in consistent operation. Sometimes the door would open or close, after a long delay. Sometimes it wouldn't open or close at all.
Access to the hotel and location were good. Even so, I will not stay there again.
