Severly Dissapointed!
By ,
I stayed at this hotel one night and I checked out the next morning. I chose it so I could have a kitchen during my extended stay, but when I got to my room I wanted to turn around and walk right back out. It was so dirty and very out dated. Carpet and furniture was dirty and stained. They couch had a hole in it. There were patched holes in bathroom door. Floor tiles, tub and toilet stained. The only thing that looked clean was the bed. This hotel is in desparate need of remodeling. The staff was great, very friendly and wanting to help with whatever your needs may have been. Meals were standard Residence Inn offerings. I travel every month for weeks at a time for my job and am usually on the road more than I am home. Out of all the Residence Inn's that I have stayed this was by far the worst ever. I will never stay here again until they do some major remodeling. If you want to stay at a Marriott, I would suggest the Mystic Marriott Hotel & Spa in Groton CT it was just remodeled in 2011. If you want to stay at a Hilton I would choose the Hilton Mystic in Mystic, CT (also recently remodelled) or the Hilton Garden Inn in Groton, CT. I have stayed at both the Hiltons and they are both very nice hotels.

We would gladly stay here again
By ,
My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn in Mystic for 3 nights. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen had a full size refrigerator, a dishwasher, and much more than you would expect in a hotel and the staff was friendly. The free breakfast buffet included 3 types of juice, fruit, pancakes, scrambled eggs, french toast, hash browns, 2 waffle makers for the guests to make their own waffles, etc. The Residence Inn also offers a free "dinner" four nights a week. We opted to eat there the evening they served hamburgers, hot dogs, pulled pork, tossed salad, and macaroni salad. All in all we were very pleased. I did have one small complaint about the "GUEST" laundry. The laundry had two washers and two dryers which would have been ample, except the housekeeper was laundering rags. I was in and out of the guest laundry for approximately two hours and the towels/rags were in one of the dryers the entire time. I cleaned the lint filter twice thinking it would speed the drying process up if the lint filter wasn't clogged with lint . But, it took forever because the dryer was absolutely packed with the towels that were used as rags. We went to another Residence Inn the following night and I noticed they had industrial type washers/dryers for the staff to use. FYI-there is a public laundry across the street from the Residence Inn and that does provide an alternative.

Needs some attention to small details.
By ,
My husband and I spent our honeymoon at this hotel. We arrived without luggage (good old Delta) and were without it until the last day there. The desk staff were attentive and provided what they could to help us with toiletries. The breakfast is really good and the week-day suppers are a nice perk too. They need to review their housekeeping quality control. We never received new shampoo, soap, conditioner throughout our stay. Those tiny bottles don't last through very many showers. They also forgot to replenish our coffee supply. On at least one day they did not change our bed sheets and left the bed not very neat to say the least. The price was extremely expensive. We have stayed at much nicer Residence Inns for a lot less money.

Website needs updating
By ,
My husband and I went to the Mystic Residence Inn for my birthday weekend. We had a jacuzzi room which was really nice. We were disappointed to learn the outlet shopping their website refers to, no longer exists. The location of the hotel is perfect if you plan to visit the Mystic Seaport or Aquarium, Mistick Village Shops, Mystic Pizza or the 2 Indian Casinos. The hotel was what you would expect from a Residence Inn.

No smoking room?????
By ,
My stay here was good except for the distinct smell of cigarette smoke in our non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor which we couldn't get rid of. We opened windows for the whole first night and day but the smell never left. While unpacking at home I realized every piece of clothing whether I had worn it or not, had to be washed because of the smell. Breakfast is great and I like the idea of a newspaper to read with breakfast everyday.

A nice place
By ,
I liked the size of the room. It came with a full sized refridgerator, stovetop, dishwasher, and dishes. We had a great time. The only problem was the multiple buildings of the hotel got a little confusing. Close to Old Mystic Village. Breakfast was decent.
