Personal WORST hotel experience

If you are traveling with a child do not stay here! We got charged $110.00 because my daughter spilled a 1/2 glass of water on the bed. Following check out we also got a very rude, inappropriate, and abrasive phone call from the front desk informing us that we would be charged. Overall, for an expensive room it was not that nice and we did not like the surrounding area. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again, especially this one. I have never had such inappropriate and rude customer service

Good location

The location is very good, close to the historic district but far enough away to be affordable. It's an older hotel and coud use some renovations, carpet needs replaced. The pool and pool area needs a good scrubbing and some tiles replaced. The exterior door lock from the parking lot was broken so anyone had access to the hallways, which we didn't like of course. The breakfast was very good and in the evening there were an assortment of chips and some fresh fruit out in the lobby for snacking which was nice. We did use the computer and printer in the business office, which was really nice. My husband used the treadmills but both were broken and difficult to use. I would probably not stay again, however we talked to others in the lobby who said they stay there every year. Maybe it was nicer when they first started coming...

Ehhh.

Stayed here along a Southern road trip. Suitable but something was lacking. Staff seemed a little sour. Adequately curteous but they seemed to not care too much. Near some essential stores and restaurants (Bessinger's BBQ is higly recommended!) but a bit overpriced considering it was at least five miles from downtown. Seemingly new facilities and a decent pool.

Very Good Price For The Location

This hotel is extremely affordable for the location. It's convenient to all areas of Charleston and close to restaurants and shopping. The room was adequate and clean. The faux leather chair needed to be replaced as the vinyl was badly deteriorated - which I found surprising. Also the hallways needed some updated lighting (very dim) and some new carpeting. Other than that, I would recommend this hotel for the price.
