Best Western Heritage Inn, Bakersfield

When my sister rolled her car twice on I-5 with my 5 yr old dtr and 13 yr old niece on the way home from Disneyland, these motel people were so cold and uncaring, they charged her FULL RATE to stay in a room for 4 hours so that she could calm herself and the girls down, while her husband drove from Sacramento to get them. When the girls walked in from having just wrecked, the desk clerk told them to be careful with their drinks so they didn't spill on the computer. We called to ask them to reverse the charges or at least reduce the rate (my sister is still not ok), and they are so unbelievably rude. They just keep saying that is their rate and they are trying to run a business. The man I spoke with has a very thick middle Eastern accent and just keeps telling me they cannot reverse any part of the rate over and over. I guess money is more important than people. Judging from other reviews, they seem to take advantage of people having wrecks on the highway. Please do not give this motel any business. Hopefully you wont ever be in the position where you have no choice.

We needed a place to stay near Bakersfield to break up the road trip from Monterey to Vegas. We didn't want anything more than a place to lay our weary heads but we were pleasantly surprised by a large room with a microwave and a fridge. I can't vouch for the service or the pool as we didn't use either. There is a Jack In The Box and an IHOP within walking distance for food and it is a comfortable place to stay if you don't want to go all the way into Bakersfield. The only downfall was the "high speed" inter net...it was slower than dial up but hey, that wasn't what we were there for.
