Ashley Inn and Suites, Lincoln City

Looking at The Ashley Inn and Suites (Ashley Inn) website, my boyfriend and I thought it was a great deal for a one King bed with hot breakfast for only 69.99/night down to about $62/night with AAA. So we booked it for that day (May 23rd) for one night. We should have known something was wrong when we showed up and the front desk person couldn’t find our reservation for that night. Turns out, because of a glitch in their system, we had been redirected to their old website which didn’t allow for same day reservations. This was fine with us since they fixed everything right then, or so we thought. Later that day, my boyfriend went online to check his account and sees that he was being charged $180 for the room. Now, the room was nice and but definitely NOT worth $180! It was more up to Super Motel 8 room if anything. My boyfriend then proceeds to go to the front desk to ask what is up. A new lady up front tell him yes it was a mistake and that they would take care of it. Next morning, still $180 charge. So we figured they can fix it when we check out. A different front desk lady AND the general manager are here now. They are completely confused what is going on so we explain. We are then told that yes they will reimburse us, but it was going to be 10 days! On top of this, they would have to again charge us the $62 for the room, so about $242 in all. They then BLAMED us, saying it was because we used a debit card so that’s why it would take 10 days for a refund and that most of the hotels in Lincoln City had a $300 security deposit on debit cards. NOWHERE at the front desk does it say they would be charging a security deposit on debit cards! I have stayed many times in other hotels in Lincoln City, NEVER ONCE have I put more than $100 for a security deposit, which would then be promptly returned when I checked out. At this point the attendant and general manager are downright rude and condescending telling us there was absolutely no way they could reverse the charges. My boyfriend is pretty steamed at this point since it was their fault for the overcharge, as they had admitted it the day we got there, later that same day, and as we checked out! When asked for the email of the owner/property management, we were told BY THE GENERAL MANAGER that “Oh, he doesn’t like me giving out his email, you can just email us and we will transfer it to him.” What kind of general manager acts like this? In absolute disbelief at this point, we really have no choice but to take his card and leave. Before we pull out of the parking lot, my boyfriend checks his bank balance since he wasn’t sure if he had enough funds for the extra $70 being charged. Low and behold, we see a $180 reimbursement pending. So apparently “absolutely no way to reverse the charges” was a lie. Never again will I stay here or recommend this place to friends, family, or coworkers. Maybe after the entire staff goes through retraining on their system and they get a new general manager who knows how to treat customers with respect, The Ashley Inn and Suites (Ashley Inn) would be an okay place for some to stay.

Ashely inn in Lincoln city is the best.. They are very friendly and so helpful, my husband and I just got back from our trip to the coast and thanks to the staff at the Ashley inn it turned out great. the rooms were clean and comfortable, we didn't have breakfast but from what I saw WOW it was nice, anything you may have wanted. All I can say is give them a try. the only even remotely bad is it's a little pricey, but if your looking for quite, comfortable, friendly place it's your best bet!!

OK, since I utilized reviews of hotels and restaurants quite a bit before we stayed to determine where we'd stay, I thought I'd give my thoughts on this hotel to help others make their decision. I travelled to Lincoln City with my husband and our two daughters (one is a teenager, the other is 7 years old), so it was important that we have enough beds to comfortably fit everyone. We stayed in a double queen room, and the room was spacious enough for all of us to be quite comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is by far the best complimentary continental breakfast I've encountered in my travels. It's been my experience that continental breakfasts provided free of charge by hotels have consisted of strong coffee, store-bought, stale sweet pastries and a few cocktail napkins. The Ashley inn had several different cereals (both cold and several flavors of instant oatmeal were available), a juice dispenser with apple and orange juice (not a watered down, orange colored liquid, this was a fresh tasting juice!), coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milk. There was also french toast, biscuits and gravy (which was quite tasty), sausage, cinnamon buns, an array of fresh fruit (bananas, canteloupe, honeydew melon and watermelon), plus a toaster with several different loaves of bread, bagels, or english muffins to choose from. As well as yogurt and all the condiments you could want for your breakfast fare. Needless to say, we didn't need to stop anywhere for breakfast, we had that covered! In addition, Ashley Inn is centrally located on Hwy 101, where you can find loads of shops and restaurants, and it's not too far from the Chinook Casino should you want for that form of entertainment. It's not far from the beach, you could walk there if the weather were accomodating (unfortunately, during our stay, it was not, but that wasn't the hotel's fault!) Overall, we were very impressed with Ashley Inn, and have decided that this will be where we stay when we visit Lincoln City again.
