Newly renovated but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/3/11
Told this location was recently renovated. Would say some things were replaced: furniture in the room, carpet in the rooms, furniture in the pool area...they tried is the bottom line. Mismatch of carpet from room to hallway, baseboard carpet still the old. Put in new lock system, old holes in the doors. Pool bottom is chipped, bugs, clear oily film on the surface and not very heated. The room either had the chemical smell that comes off carpet or it may have been the cleaning chemicals used in the rooms. No suitcase racks Would not be first choice if returned.

Bad Customer Service

Very rude front desk staff and housekeepers. TERRIBLE breakfast. Rooms were not very clean and had a terrible smell. Stains on the bed sheets.

Don't settle for Super 8
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/25/09
Booked at the last minute and did not read the previous reviews like we should have! Paid $89 for room with 2 queens and a bunk bed. The bunk bed was a joke! Metal- not wood and squeaked terribly when the kids made the smallest move in it. They had to sleep in the queen beds with us so we could all get to sleep. Breakfast was a joke- Food everywhere on the counter and floor. One person behind the counter trying to wear two hats. We couldn't even eat there for the "complimentary" breakfast and had to go spend another $20 at Mickey D's.... Pool was low (first step exposed) and dirty. Lots of bugs in the pool. Room stunk.. I can concur with all other reviews concerning this establishment. Avoid at all costs... Oh yeah, the XBOX is not included in the room rate. You have to pay $10 to use a game and if you dont like the game, you need to spend another $10 on a different game. My kids told me that even they knew that that is a rip-off......

Wasn't too bad for price ($90)
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/09
Room was clean. Pool was clean but cool. Hot tub looked dirty. Staff was OK. Located on the far south end of town, about 10 min from downtown - will need to drive.

never stay there again
By john, 5/31/09
Food particles all over the floors and the breakfast was worthless. Avoid this place at all costs. Not worth $8 let alone $70

Avoid at all costs
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/26/09
Incredibly rude and indifferent staff, inedible breakfast, terrible beds, pool and hot tub hadn't been cleaned in months or years. I was quoted one price on the phone and charged another (higher) price at the time of check in. Thermopolis is a great town, but the Super 8 made it a marginal experience. The Thermopolis Chamber of Commerce needs to revoke any endorsement of this establishment. I WILL NEVER WASTE MY MONEY AT THIS ESTABLISHMENT AGAIN! I wish I'd seen these other reviews before booking a reservation at this absolutely awful excuse for a lodging establishment.

Horrible Weekend
By thomas p, 3/9/08
My family and I went to Thermopolis to get away for a weekend. We decided to stay at the Super 8. We had 3 rooms rented. The price is ok. The front desk help is VERY rude!! The rooms are NOT at all clean. There was sunflower seed shells in one of the bathrooms we had. The beds are HORRIBLE. In one of the rooms there was only one lamp working. We did tell the front desk but they did nothing. The pool and hot tub was very relaxing. The pool is very warm. I normally do not complain sbout where we stay, but this Super 8 is horrible. The location is ok. Close to a couple of restaurants. You have to drive. When I went to check out, the man at the front desk was on the phone he saw me standing there. He got off the phone, turned and walked away. He was gone for 10 min. He was VERY rude. I know I will not be staying here with my family again. Unless the attituse is changed. I DO NOT recommened this hotel to anyone.

Don't be fooled!
By ArZea, 6/30/07
There were several items in the hotel description that sounded really nice (not like a typical Super8 hotel) ... kids room with bunk beds; indoor pool; hot breakfast; Nintendo 64; and refridgerator. Don't be fooled - there is nothing super about this Super 8! The pool was ice cold. The breakfast room was tiny (three tables) with runny scrambled eggs and no coffee (one hotel employee checking people out and taking care of restocking the breakfast area). No games for the Nintendo 64; bad smell (pee) in the kids' bunk bed; and a non-functional fridge wired to a very unsafe looking extension cord. They also refused to take off the $1 charge for the safe we did not use.

Filthy pool
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/05
Rooms were OK, staff fine. The pool and hot tub looked as if it had not been cleaned in a long time. Initials and notes from the previous year were scratched in the scum along the pools edge. They also, as is Super 8's current habit, charged an additional dollar for the safe in the room. (Next they will be charging for each flush of the toilet!) I just completed a cross country trip and found many other hotels superior in value than the Super 8 chain.

Not $28 in the summer
By allstoppedup, 6/29/05
Super 8 or whatever, go to Thermopolis for the free hot spring, raft ride in the Wind River Canyon, and the water Parks near the hot springs. The town fills up, so get a room in advance, this place is fine but is too far to walk downtown.
