Overbooked at Holiday Inn, had to stay at Comfort Suites...
My seventy-three year old mother and I had originally made reservations to stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, but they had overbooked and asked if we would not mind staying at the Comfort Suites Hotel for the same price. It was only for one night, so I said that was fine.
The hotel was across the parking lot, so it was not far to go. We stayed on the second floor in Room 239, and were initially impressed with the room. It had separate sleeping and sitting areas, with two beds, a clock radio, a closet, two chairs, a couch, two tables, a large older model television with remote, and an iron and ironing board. The kitchen area included a sink, coffeemaker, microwave, and refrigerator. We also had a beautiful view of the mountains from our hotel room window.
The bathroom was very large, with a sink, four sets of towels, a hairdryer, one bottle of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. However, the floor was cracked, the shower and tub had mildew stains, and the showerhead had lime stains. Also, the toilet was very noisy, and we could hear the toilet from the next hotel room.
The hotel lobby had a bit of a South West flavor to it, and had a gift/snack shop, an Internet station, two elevators, a pool table, a couple of sofas, and complimentary coffee. Upon check-in, we were given coupons for a free complimentary continental breakfast at Cactus Reds Restaurant, which was attached to the hotel.
Overall, the room at the Comfort Suites Hotel was fine, other than the bathroom, and we rated it near the middle of the ones we stayed at during our trip.
