Glendorn, Bradford

We read about the Glendorn in the Wine Spectator and decided spend an afternoon driving over to have a look. When we arrived at the secluded location, a magical ambiance unfolded before us.........Every thing was teeming with atmosphere and history. A well kept hideaway, rustically elegant "big house" and exqusite cusine. The great room was complete with a towering fireplace, grand piano and appropriate music playing softly in the background. A charming server from Eastern Europe presented wonderful culinary delights and fine wine, and the chef greeted guests in European fashion. Our only regret was that we had not come prepared to stay the night. After a tour of the two suites in the big house, we left with plans to return. Words like secluded, romantic, authentic, and charming lend themselves to this amazing resort. We enjoy travel and have visited wonderful resorts before...........We were delighted to find such a pleasant place so nearby...

This is one of those magical places that you want to share with others but, at the same time, preserve for yourself. My wife and I have stayed at Glendorn several times over the last 5 years and we always look forward to returning. While it may seem crazy to travel to Bradford, PA, in the winter, it is our preferred time to visit. We enjoy the opportunity to cross-country ski and snowshoe the many trails as well as just resting by the fire in our favorite cabin. The meals are always a treat - even for a "meat and potatoes" man like me. We have always found the staff to be most friendly and accommodating. All-in-all staying at Glendorn is one of those rare experiences in life that, for us, has become part of our yearly ritual and yet never fails to delight. Bob & Jill
