You get what you pay for, BUT great location
Well, my boyfriend & I booked this place for a cheap 3-night stay to save money. We felt it was a great location for all the places we were visiting, and would barely be in the room.
When we got there to check in, we walked in with smiles, but were greeted by a man that didn't care to smile, or be friendly. Didn't talk much, except to ask for my name, card, ID, and give us the keys to our room.
The room:
Wasn't at all what the pictures looked like on the website. We were let down a bit. We kinda had to laugh at the bathroom lighting. When you turned on the lights, it was so dim it reminded us of some horror thriller. After the first night, we forgot about it. The mini fridge is laughable. It's partially made out of wood. The room looks creepy, but it was clean, so that was important. The microwave came handy. Suprisingly, the bed was very comfortable (along with the pillows), and the sheets had our bodies not wanting to get out. After checking out, we were still saying how shockingly comfortable Super 8 hotel beds were.
Location:
This is a plus! Close to everything! Next door is Starbucks, and Einstein Bagels. If you forget anything, there's a CVS, and Walgreen drug store a few feet away that's open 24-hours. Not to mention a TJ MAXX, Ross, Circut City around the corner. Mervyn's & Target are not far as well.
Sea World is also very close. That was one of our destinations, and about 10-15 mins from Pacific Ocean spots, or Mission Beach.
Food:
My boyfriend & I HIGHLY recommend a BBQ spot called "Phil's BBQ" on Sports Arena Blvd. It gets pretty busy, but when you eat there, you can see why. You could ask the front desk for directions, or look it up. It's less than 5 minutes away from the hotel. Otherwise, we enjoyed the large variety of fast food around. Especially Chipotle's, and In & Out Burger.
We admitted that it's no super nice hotel, but for a place to crash, and get ready to head out again, saving the money is all worth staying here again.
