A Mixed Bag

My room was 306, directly across from the banquet storage area, so I heard that door banging shut all day and all night as they put away tables and chairs. That room is also the last one on that corridor, and I think they forgot someone was in there, as I never got a newspaper in the morning - not a single day. The kitchen is under renovation so the meals are served in the lobby, and the buffet food (e.g., the breakfast meat)is NOT up to Marriott's standards. (They were working on the kitchen at 2:30 a.m. and I could hear the drilling in my room! They brought me portable fans to drown out the noise, but at 4:15 a.m., those same workers set off the fire alarm by accident, and we all had to evacuate.) Maid service was abysmal and very inconsistent. The "business Center" consists of one, sad little PC with a tiny screen and a single printer that didn't work the entire 10 days I was there. This hotel is also really out of the way if you want to catch lunch or dinner in town. The saving grace was that every employee I spoke with about these problems (and others)were really wonderful and cheerful about remedying the problem (or trying to). VERY professional staff!!
