Our Best Western Inn & Suites is ideally situated - nestled in the heart of Leatherstocking Country and central New York State. We are located just a few minutes from the village of Cooperstown where you will find quaint shops, fine dining and of course, The National Baseball Hall of Fame. Even though Cooperstown is probably best known as being the home of America's favorite pastime (baseball), it is also a place filled with culture, heritage and natural beauty. Come experience world-class opera, national art exhibits, and hands-on history museums. Hunt for antiques and crafts on rural roads. Discover a timeless place in the rolling foothills of the northern Catskills, the land of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales. We offer a wide range of room types to suit the needs of travelers. There are 62 rooms in The Inn and 36 seasonal suites in The Lodge that have a refrigerator and microwave (very convenient for those guests that will be with us for a while). Whether you are here on business or vacation, amenities such as our indoor pool and spa, fitness room, picnic pavilion, and game room will make your stay even more enjoyable. We think you will find our little niche of countryside unlike any other. We look forward to welcoming you.

bad night
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/29/06
used to love this place before the dream fields were built. The family allways stayed in a suite. Now with the dream fields there are kids running, eating and playing in the hallwys. On our get away night I guess one team won a championship and the adults partied all night long with cursing, drinking and being loud all night long, several complaints to the front desk went ignored. The party ended at 6am we had to leave that morning they had the nerve to put up a do not desturb sign on the door. A complaint at the front desk was met with the remark "There was nothing we could do." There was no discount offered .My opinion, never stay there with your family unless they are playing with a team on the dream fields. Otherwise you wont have a relaxing time.

We were charged $170/night we had to stay 3 nights Since Manager refused to give us refund. He was so rude & Violent my family member didnot feel safe for a minute to be passing from office. Great place to stay during Dreams Park Tournaments
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/03/05
We stayed here one week during the summer while our son played in the Youth Hall of Fame Tournament at Cooperstown Dreams Park. It was very convenient for us because we needed to be at the fields 2 or more times a day for various games and events and the hotel is ~3/4 of a mile from the park. There are a number of places to eat including a steak house, chinese restaurant, Pizza Hut, McDonalds and a small coffe shop and supermarket literally in the parking lot of the hotel. The staff was very helpful and accomadating during our stay. One evening, we were able to entertain the baseball team with coaches and parents in the large hotel lobby and pool area. Needless to say we were the envy of many other families who were staying in far off, sometimes run down accomadations with no pool or a/c. One note reservations are made ~1year in advance during the tournament weeks so book your reservations asap!!!! The price was a little steep and the continental breakfast was nothing special but on the whole we were very satisfied with our stay here.I would highly recommend this hotel especially during Tournament weeks at Dreams Park. You could not ask for anything more!!!

Great Location, but ...
By Chris, 08/16/05
If you're participating in the baseball at Cooperstown Dreams Park, it doesn't get much better than this. It's 1/2 mile from the park and sits next to a McDonald's, an average steak house, a Chinese place and a grocery store. But, if you're not a baseball nut and you go in the summer, beware. Partying parents and rowdy kids will make you thankful for the noisy a/c. Bring ear plugs and a sound machine to drown out the late night revelries; the hotel turns a deaf ear to it. The continental breakfast is a carb lover's dream. Try "The Bean", next to the steak place. It has fantastic salads, breakfast items, sandwiches and coffee. Wi/Fi is very good, and free. The place is clean and well maintained. The pool, well, it's definitely heated. If you're looking for a get away, do a Bed and Breakfast. For a family, this ain't bad.

Good price, clean accomodations
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/16/05
We stayed here off season, and found the accomodations clean, neat and cheap. Roomwas adequate for our needs, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The standard continental breakfast was good. Pool was a great plus - we had it to ourselves for our entire stay. The nearby (unaffiliated) steakhouse was terrible - don;t go there.

Good for the price
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/17/05
Stayed for one night with family - off season. Room was clean and neat, staff was friendly and professional, amenities were good - particularly the continental breakfast. Pool was a great plus, and we had it all to ourselves. View from room was of some odd paintball course and the hills beyond. Lobby was warm and comfortable. Centrally located and only about 3-4 miles outside Cooperstown downtown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. Would stay here again if we were ever in the Cooperstown area. Restaurant/Steakhouse next-door - but not recommended.

Convenient for Baseball HOF
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/29/04
This property is a 10-minute drive from downtown Cooperstown and the Baseball HOF. It offers modern conveniences like wireless Internet and there is a fridge and microwave in each room. While the facility appears to be fairly new (or newly rennovated) the amenities are below average. The bed was really quite uncomfortable and the linens were tissue-paper thin. The HVAC was also pretty noisy. And the shower was quite a painful experience as there was only one setting of water pressure -- super-sonic mist. Also no one travels to Cooperstown for the swimming, so I won't knock the bathtub-sized indoor pool. Great if you want to swim 50 laps in about 3 minutes. If the Baseball Hall of Fame is a game-winning home run, this hotel is a sacrifice bunt down the first baseline -- nothing special, but it gets the job done. Rating: 2 1/2 stars out of Five.
