Nice Place with a great view
By Joe, 4/16/11
Drove to Cherokee for the casino on a Saturday night. I did not have any reservations and just drove around town for a while. Stopped at a couple of places for rates and then just decided on the Quality. The place was very clean, slightly worn but not bad. I feel it was a good value for the money. It is true the restaurant is closed but a Waffel House and Mc Donalds plus other fast foods about 1/2 mile away. The one thing I would like them to change is the breakfast. Their times are 6am to 9am. Who gets up at 6am on Sunday for breakfast? Times should be 8am to 11am.

Not happy at all!
By disappointed, 8/22/09
Says online this hotel has a restaurant on site. That was one of the reasons we stayed here was because it would be convienent. Well, nope, apparently the cafe shut down 2 years ago and they neglected to take the information offline and take all the signs down. The continental breakfast was nothing to be excited about. The rooms have fridges but no microwaves which makes no sense. The air was turned off when we arrived so we had to wait about 2 hours for our room to cool off. They only come by to clean the rooms every other day so if you run out of something you have to track down an employee to get what you need. Oh, and lastly, there is no real house number so forget about using your GPS to find this place. Was nice to have the river to look at but will not be staying here ever again.

Quiet and Peaceful Retreat
By Larry, 6/15/09
My wife and I enjoyed our two night stay at the Quality Inn. The rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. The best part of the room is actually outside. You can sit on the balcony and watch / hear the river flow by and the Mallard ducks paddle around with beautiful mountains in the background. The front desk experience was smooth and efficient. The continental breakfast was above average, This isn't a 5 star resort hotel, but it is clean, comfortable and in a beautiful setting. We were placed there by the casino, so there was no charge for the room, but if given the option of other hotels in the area I would pick this one again. All of the staff were friendly, from the front desk to housekeeping, to the young man cleaning the area around the pool. I highly recommend the Quality Inn Cherokee.

A Friendly Place to Stay
By Marsha & TommyC, 10/5/08
We checked in early on the first day of our stay and had a nice chat with the front desk folks. We found them to be very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable with a nice mountain view across the parking lot. Later, I tried connecting to the internet and was unsuccessful, so I stepped down to the lobby where Melissa did her best to get me connected. (It has since been determined that it was a problem with a setting on my laptop). Sherry at the front desk was great. Friendly and helpful. We were passing through on our way to Tennessee, but liked the hotel well enough that we stayed again on our return trip and had a nice view of the pool and Occonoluftee River. Again, a clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was nice, it was good not to have to rush out to find something to eat. They offered bagels, English muffins, cereals, coffee, milk, juices, boiled eggs and frozen waffles.

Rude people work front desk!
By VanillaBaby, 8/10/08
I liked that my room was very clean and spacious , the balcony was the best part as we love to sit outside and relax. The worst part is the people that work at the front desk. We were the only people in the lobby when we arrived to check-in and they all just kept having there conversation for about 15 minutes until they decided to ask us our name and if we were checking in. I am a heavy-set lady and the little blonde guy at the front was making little remarks to his co-workers about how gross overweight people were and no one smiles at you when they talk to you in there either. This hotel has the WORST workers and I think it'd help the company look a lot better if they got some new friendly staff members!!!

Very nice place
By First L, 4/20/08
We wanted to stay at Harris but it was booked as it always is. But Harris put us up in the Quality Inn for $37.00 a night and we were expecting the worst. After reading all the negative reviews we almost didn't show. We stopped in around 1pm - 3 hours before check in time and were greeted with warm smiles and friendly front desk clerks. The room was ready and clean and we had no problems at all. We did bring a bottle of wine and forgot the opener and went to the front desk and was given an opener. We really enjoyed our room which over looked the stream and had a lovely time. I guess all of the bad reviews were from the folks that came to town and lost their shirts and took it out on the hotel staff. I say go to Cherokee to visit the other sites and enjoy the stay at the hotel. Thank You for a great time. rob & tammy from Atlanta Ga.

wont stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/14/08
We asked for their best rate and was given the standard rate when we would have been entitled to several different discounts. The second night we were there our bathroom wasn't cleaned and the trashcans weren't emptied. Also the first night we found a bug in the bathtub. The breakfast certainly wasn't up to par with the Hampton Inn or other hotels we have used for the past several years. We would nt recomind this hotel to our friends.

Love being treated like royalty!!! Everyone there made our stay perfect. Having a good cup of morning coffee on the balcony overlooking the river is so relaxing. Thanks to all of you..

beauty not worth the rudeness and unprofessionalism
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/15/07
Have been to this same hotel at least 10 times in the last 5 years but the last 3 times have had some minor and major problems but never complained. Talked to my family and decided that management couldn't fix the problems if it wasn't aware of them. I went to politely inform him of them and was basically called a liar and was informed if I didn't like it I could leave and he would prefer I do so, I would have 30 minutes to leave, as it was 10:30 am or I would be charged for that night. I had 2 handicapped people with me who were sleeping in so I didn't leave until the next morning but I will never be back. not because of the problems but the way I was treated by management. I left almost in tears and had to take a nerve pill to calm down. I love the beauty of the creek but the treatment I received was rude and unprofessional. It ruined my vacation.

This Place was GREAT... My boyfriend and I got the king suite with the jacuzzi tub, I took a nice bottle of wine and glasses and candles.....the room had french doors that opened up to the private balcony that over looked the river....Oh my !!!! THIS week-end was just what we needed.....
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/15/07
The only -ONE- thing the Quality Inn could do to make it better is.... IN the king suite jacuzzi room is to add or upgrade the am/fm clock radio... IT NEEDED TO HAVE a CD PLAYER so we could play some SOFT MUSIC.....THE RADIO COULDN'T PICK UP ANY CHANNELS...I had a Marvin Gay cd in the car but no way to play it...
