It is awesome inn!
By ,
I really enjoyed my stay here as I had an interview with LECOM the next day. It was just remodeled and the room is clean, with spacious bathroom. Two flat-screen TVs, on in the bedroom, the other is is the kitchen where you can cook if you want to save money. They even shop grocery for you with no extra charge. Another benefit is that they offer free shuttle to and from Airport and also to/from the LECOM medical school. I did not need a car rental.

Shabby, dirty, and cold
By ,
The hotel has a great location for Splash Lagoon, but it is shabby and needs to be updated. Our suite (their biggest and most expensive) had unpleasant and unhygienic memories from previous guests. The heat in the bedrooms works off a central thermostat so if you close your bedroom door, you freeze. Attempts to reach customer service have been ignored.

Wonderful experience!
By ,
Our stay was wonderful! We arrived early, but since our room was ready they let us in. They had just changed out the matteress to a brand new one, and the room was very clean. the room was more than nice! A king bed, full fridge, two burner stove top, nice "L" shaped sofa, large fireplace, dishwasher, microwave, and they even supplied the kitchen utensils and dishes! The staff has been friendly and helpful. They even supplied dinner, and although it wasnt the best it was free, they didn't have to provide it. The pool was nice and warm, the jazuzzi wasn't, but we have one in our room so that wasn't a big deal. The sauna was nice, and their workout room was very nice. The breakfast was amazing, walked away waddling. We took advantage of their on site laundry. The housekeeping staff was respectful of the do not distrub sign, which in our experience hasn't always been true. We enjoyed Splash lagoon and cant wait to come back!

Just OK
By ,
Overall the hotel and room were OK. The pool was nice, but the floor around the pool was very slippery. Breakfast was very good. The room smelled a little funky but it was clean. The bed was horrible - small and in need of replacement. The "bedroom" area was cramped and you could barely walk around the bed. The sofa bed was even more horrible. Staff were OK but not overally friendly. Good for families with kids, just beware that there will be screaming and running in the halls at all times of the day and night. TV had a VHS player - who travels with VHS??

Nice for families
By ,
We stayed at the Residence Inn in July 2003 and again in June 2007. Since the addition Lagoon Splash I would not recommend this hotel for business travelers. In 2003, the rooms were cleaner, the afternoon dinners were plentiful and the rooms appeared to be in better repair. I know four years have passed, but the exhaust fans in both bathrooms were filthy. Everything just seemed banged up and not thoroughly cleaned. The desk staff was very good; housekeeping was so-so. We stay in a two bedroom suite which is very spacious and comfortable. We didn't cook, but kept a pizza and beverages in the fridge--very convenient. The breakfasts are very nice--hot foods, pastries, belgium waffles, cereals, juices, etc. We didn't go to Splash, but spent most of our days at Presque Isle beach which is only about 20-30 minutes away and pretty convenient. We loved the pool area, which is why we stayed here again. It's large enough, not too crowded and the pool is nicely heated. Overall, it's convenient for families, our room was very quiet and we had a nice stay. We haven't decided if we will stay there again or try somewhere else.

Aims for greatness, but achieves only mediocrity
By ,
Splash Lagoon, for those who dont know, is an indoor water park. Splash Lagoon is really this hotels main feature. You can reach the water park without ever stepping foot outside, making it a great summer getaway, even in the cold winter. The hotel was rich with amenities. Our suite had two full-sized beds in the bedroom, a fold-out couch in the living area, a gas fireplace, two televisions, a fully equipped kitchen, and a whirlpool tub in the bathroom. It also boasted free Ethernet broadband Internet access if you brought your computer along. The morning breakfast buffet was a stress-free way start to the day. The biggest failing, though, was how the place kept falling just short of my expectations. The service was good, but lacked in enthusiasm, and they overcharged us on our bill. The room was nice, but the aforementioned whirlpool tub was so filthy that we hesitated to even shower in it. The separate bedroom for the parents was great, but the fact that the kids had to walk through it in order to reach the bathroom was a disappointment. Overall, it was a pleasant, but not must-have, experience, especially when they stay is measured in hundreds per night. Should we ever return to the joys of Splash Lagoon, we will probably look at one of the other attached hotels for our lodging needs.

An unplanned stay at a beautiful place
By ,
Last September while enroute to Pittsburgh from Ft.Myers Fl., for my fiftieth H.S. Reunion, we ended up in Erie Pa. because of Plane connection problems. We had no room for the night, so stopped in at this location and they rented us a room for two nights. Our stay was excellent and the hotel staff went out of thier collective way to make us feel welcome and comfortable.
