Worst Best Western

We chose this as an access point for the Grand Canyon. Based on previous good luck with Best Western for basic accommodations, we thought we'd try this hotel. Given the relatively steep price ($125) we expected a better than average BW experience. Despite being in a non-smoking room, a strong smell of smoke permeated the room (after we checked in - it was fresh smoke from other rooms, not just stale smell). When we reported this to the front desk, they just shrugged and said that doesn't make sense. Well, maybe not, but it happened and was not desirable, especially since my wife was pregnant. The noise from the other rooms was unbearable with every footstep from the rooms and hall above heard clearly. Finally, the "breakfast" consisted of a paltry selection of cereal and sweet buns, with some juice and coffee. Hardly worth mentioning as an "included" extra. We strongly recommend that you avoid this hotel. There must be far better value elsewhere in the area. This indpendently owned hotel is just making money off the Best Western name.
