Good for the college crowd...
We recently stayed a night at Hotel California and some of it was good and some of it was not. The room was cleverly and beautifully decorated and the big bed was cozy (made even nicer with a light down comforter) (though the head board squeaked each time we turned over) and the sheets smelled of bleach. Most unfortunately the windows were not double paned, so we heard every thing from the pounding on the neighbor's door for 10 minutes at 10pm to the motor cycle (a very nice Harley) starting up at 7:30am. We heard everything as if there were no wall at all... We also heard the noise from the room next door and the person(s) walking above us. And be aware, the hot water was so hot it scalded my hand while I was trying to adjust it. A 1/4 inch turn on the hot, all the way to the end for the cold. Not a good thing for families with kids. I also thought we would be closer to the beach, but it's not too close. Close walk to 3rd St. Promenade. $15.00 parking charge, which wasn't disclosed until we were there and about $35.00 in taxes. Plus the internet was not in the bedroom, it was on the counter where we checked in. And the TV was local channels. My $199 was $250. pretty fast. I'd spend a little more money next time and get a quieter place.
