I AM A POLICE OFFICER ALONG WITH 2 OTHER POLICE OFFICERS AND OBSERVED IT IS LOCATED IN A ROUGH BLACK AREA OF TOWN. ONE OF THE OFFICERS STAYED BESIDE A HISPANIC COUPLE AND THEY HAD A LOT OF COMPANY COMING AND GOING AT NIGHT. WE WERE IN UNMARKED CARS SO THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHO WE WERE AND WE WERE OUT OF OUR JURISDICTION. THE SMELL FROM THE SMITHFIELD MEAT PACKING COMPANY IS OVERPOWERING IN THE MORNING AND WILL RUIN YOUR APPETITE FOR ANY BREAKFAST THEY OFFER. UPON OUR ARRIVAL AT NIGHT THE FEMALE DESK CLERK HAD HER 5 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER SLEEPING AND PLAYING IN THE LOBBY. I LIKE CHILDREN AND HATE TO SEE CHILDREN HAVE TO BE EXPOSED TO SOME OF THE CLIENTS AROUND THE MOTEL. IT IS A GOOD VALUE FOR THE MONEY IF YOU KEEP YOUR CAR LOCKED AND WITHIN EYESIGHT, YOUR A LIGHT SLEEPER AND ARMED.

I go to Clinton, NC at least once a month and I have stayed at this hotel several times. The smell from the Smithfield meat processing plant the other reviewers alluded to is STILL there. On a good day, you can barely smell it when you leave your room. On a bad day, the smell is almost unbearable. There are also contractors that stay there and they tend to keep a lot of noise until around midnight. They also stand outside their room drinking and smoking. If you are a woman or have a woman with you they will stare her down and some will even say something to her. The staff is ok at best. The price is reasonable, but please realize you get what you pay for.

The smell at the meat processing plant was bearable compared to everything else at this hotel. There was mold growing down the walls in the bathroom. The comforters had cigarette burns. Requested non-smoking room and for a group of rooms together, neither request was granted. It seems this hotel is used most by those who like to party. The police came at least twice during the late evening hours. They basically said this was a bad neighborhood and they could do nothing. Did not feel safe.

the price was good the rooms clean but for some reason they have alot of strange people hanging around been there 3 times and all 3 had trouble sleeping due to party people was thinking about staying there again in june/july but called ahead for my parents and asked for a room right next to office they tell me ok but just got a call from them and they are right back at the party end. for sure not the way to get people to keep coming back and they got 4-5 times a year i go twice a year and depends on what happens with my parents stay if i'll go back there i'd rather pay more for the comfort inn if you can't get what you ask for.
