Holiday Inn Express Bakersfield, Bakersfield

Overall, this was a great value. First, the positives: Very affordable rate Great front desk service Free hot breakfast (not stellar, but decent) Clean room, nice bathroom Close to the freeway, but not noisy Fridge and microwave in the room Free wifi, with a very strong signal Then, the negatives: The area is not so great. Hallway was dark and carpet was dingy. Hallways smelled funny, although the rooms were okay. To me the most important things were the clean room at a low rate, with free breakfast and internet. On that score, this hotel delivered brilliantly. The terrific service we got while booking and during our stay was a great bonus. Yes, the hotel shows its age in places and the location isn't the best, but if you need to spend a couple of nights in Bakersfield, this is a good choice. By the way, there are railroad tracks right behind the hotel, but I did not hear a single train pass during my two night stay.

Horrible Food (don't think we won't notice just because it is free), no gym, no movies, dirty stairwells, nasty decor. The Holiday Inn is not my favorite, but this one really left us wanting...oh, I left out that the view outside your window can either be an adjacent trailer park, abandon lot, or parking lot full of broken sinks...Bakersfield is disgusting anyway...

We were very satisfied with our stay. The room was large and the beds super comfortable. Quality products (shampoo, conditioner & lotion) in the bathroom. Towels,etc, also very nice. Hotel staff is very nice and helpful, provided us with directions to a restaurant we were looking forward to. Great place to stay!!

I chose this hotel due to the reviews. Stayed in a few hotel in bakersfield but not quite satisfied. I cannot seem to find a good, clean or new hotel. This is okay for the price. A little run down and the rooms were dark. I paid 80.00 dollars and I guess that's about right for the price. Wouldn't stay here if more than 80.00.
