Worst service, clearly a no star hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/03/10
I called on the phone to reserve a room and the 2 people I talked to could barely speak english. I talked very slowly and clearly and still they said I talked to fast, too confusing. Then they told me since I would be checking in after the office closed, they'd leave my key in a mailbox outside. I told them by doing that anyone could take my key. They said "we don't put ad in paper about it" and I told them anyone who knew how their hotel worked could steal the keys. When my boyfriend and I got there about 2am after New Year's Eve, our key and a second person's key was in there. So I couldv'e taken the other key and left this other person out in the cold. And speaking of cold, when we got to our room the heat was turned completely off. We could see our breath blowing in the room. There was even a block of ice in the toilet. So we cranked up the 2 thermostats in the room and about an hour later there was some warmth to take our coats off. We watched TV while waiting for the heat to warm up but couldn't channel surf because the batteries in the remote were dead. We also tried the light in the closet but that was burnt out. We finally got to bed after 3 in the morning under the cold covers. In the morning the ice in the toilet was melted so we could finally flush it. Then we each took a shower in the smallest stall that we bumped just turning around. After we got dressed and packed up our things, we loaded up our car and I went into the office to check out and file a complaint. The only person in the office was this little girl who couldn't have been older than 12. She took my key and I told her how we were very unsatisfied with our stay. I asked to file a complaint and she said they didn't have a complaint book. I asked for a manager and she said only her grandmother was there. She didn't apologize or anything, it's like this little girl was just told to take the key and say goodbye, clearly no training in customer service. I told her we'd never return to the inn since our room was freezing, our key was left out for anyone to take, and the room was a bare minimum in comfort. I highly recommend that anyone who looks at this inn turns right around running away. Cheap rates with very cheap service.

Horribly dirty
By LUCY ANN MORAN, 10/13/08
I do not even know where to start. The rooms had a overwelming mildew smell. I would not dare to shower there, and when I tried to wash my face the water did not get even warm. The blankets were beyond gross and dirty. They were had yellow stains and were just gross. Luckily I had my sleeping bag to sleep in or I would have come home. The people who work there are nice but that does not mean they are clean.

If you expect 5 star
By star, 06/04/08
so i read the reviews for this inn and i was kind of nervous about going there since i had already booked a room, and most of the reviews were horrible, there was 4 of us going and we were looking forward to visiting this area for the first time, If you're expecting five star then maybe you should search somewhere else, we spent 2 nights, we were not able to check in until 8pm friday night but they were more then happy to work with our schedule, the room did smell musty but what do you expect its not peek season and the rooms are not being used that much just leave the door open to get some circulation going and it'll be fine. as for the locatin its not right on any shoreline which was kind of disappointing since thats what the website said but if you drove 15 mins in either direction you were at a beach, we went to the aquaruim on saturday and the mystic village which only took mins to get to, all in all the visit was great and we would def book a room there again, recommended is the restuarant called custy's oh such a great place to eat loved it, def going back there to eat (need more money though they have a all you can eat steak lobster and shrimp 69.99 a person ugh can't wait)

Wintertime . . . Dont even think about it
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/24/08
I just tried to spend the night here . . . tried is the operative word! After suffering thorugh 4 hours of management telling us the room heat level was fine and just to wait another 5 minutes for the baseboard heaters to heat up, we left. The room didn't even have extra blankets. There was an distasteful order but that was mostly masked by the cold tempeture of the room. You could see your breath when we arrived . . . inside that is. The "amentities" like soap and towels were unbelievablely cheap . . . im not sure where you could even buy bath towels so thin or small . . After 15 minute of heated discussion the "manager" credited my account . . . he did finally make the right decision. Ugh!

Don't Stay Here !!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/22/07
October 20, 2007 Had to climb a steep set of stairs to the upstairs room. Door would not open. After gaining access, hardware in door jamb fell out and onto the floor. Entire length of molding had a crack about 1/4 inch wide. Asked for another room. In 2nd room, no hot water. We questioned the desk about the hot water, and they said that the boiler was going to be delivered tomorrow (on a Sunday, right!). We did have heat though, but it was definitely not worth the $95 we were charged. I dont know how they sleep at night, knowing that they lie to people and provide such shabby accommodations. Save yourself the aggravation and just don't spend your hard earned money here.

"SEE DUMP"!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/15/07
The title name for this so-called Inn should be renamed "The Hole-in-the-Wall Inn"!! This place is in "serious" need of a makeover. As others have said, "it smells; is old; moldy; and it's not worth the money! It's Fall Season now, upon my arrive, the room was cold and took a while for the heating system to warm the room up. Upon my return to the room (the next day) it was more than warm. I took a "Cat Nap" with my clothes on. This should tell U something? Word of advice, "fork" of the expenses to stay some place other than "The Hole-in-the-Wall"

My husband and I loved the Inn. The people was all very nice and polite. The beds were neat the pillows soft. It was wondeful.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/14/07
We reserved one night based on the pictures and description. We arrived to find the grass overgrown, gardens fulls of The girls spoke to their mother on the phone and we were asked to speak to her to explain what we wanted. She told us that we would have to pay for the room whether we stayed or not. A gentleman who spoke no English took us to a room. When the door of the room was opened, the stench was unbelievable. There was no way we could stay in the extremely dark, dirty, smelly room. This hotel does NOT even deserve one star. It should be closed by the health department.
