They went above and beyond!
By Bethany, 5/6/11
My husband and I checked into the hotel and told them we weren't sure how long we would be staying. We explained to them that we were adopting (we had just been matched with a baby in Harrisburg Hospital) and our stay could be 4 days to 3 weeks long but we just had no way of knowing. They had no problem with this and were happy to accommodate. About 1/2 hour after we checked into the hotel there was a knock on the door. They delivered us a HUGE gift basket filled with laundry soap, a rubber ducky, Hershey chocolate, a disposable camera, baby oil, microwave popcorn, and MORE and a sweet note congratulating us on our new baby! For the two weeks we stayed with our newborn, breakfast and dinner was consistently delicious, they provided complimentary wine, and the facility was always quiet and clean. Very friendly staff too. I can't say enough good things about our experience! Very, very impressed!

Somewhat less than expected
By hello, 2/6/10
I've stayed here before and it was a wonderful experience, but this time I have a couple of comments. While I loved the free breakfast and cookies, the morning egg dish tasted terrible twice of the 4 days I was there, and twice the cookies were burnt. My room wasn't cleaned until 3:45PM one day and 4:30PM the next, after I returned from my meetings. As always, the staff was wonderful and the cozy dining area was a inviting place to relax. I enjoyed the free tea and coffee 24/7 and found myself looking forward to sharing the open space with other travelers. I also enjoyed the free popcorn left in my room and chocolate candies left most nights.

Pleastantly Surprised
Stayed in the hotel for two weeks for a business trip and the suites are clean and very good size. They have a free breakfeast which is better than you would expect at a hotel. While I was there they had a free meal in the evening Monday through Thursday. The meals varied by day, and they had homeade cookies every night. I would recommend this hotel as the dinning establishments in this town leave a lot to be desired.

The best in the area
By Camera Man, 4/6/08
I've traveled all across this great country of ours and it's not often that one finds a place like this away from home. I checked in late in the evening and the process was friendly and efficient. The fact that this hotel has breakfast and dinner service Monday through Thursday makes for a very convenient trip. No driving out to restaurants, waiting for tables, etc. The room is very comfortable and spacious. Plus the entire staff here is very friendly and willing to accommodate your requests. They signed for my packages that were shipped here and delivered my faxes to my room. These are the same types of things one would pay hundreds of dollars more for at other hotels and you don't get a smile or a "my pleasure". Finally, the hotel is very close to Hershey, Harrisburg, Gettysburg and only about an hour and forty-five minute drive from BWI. So if you are ever in need of a place to stay for business or pleasure in this part of PA, this is the place to stay.

Great location about a mile off I-76 (PA Turnpike), just off Rt. 15 (Gettysburg Pike), and short distance from I-581. Also, it is only a couple miles from 2 shopping malls, and multiple shopping plazas and restaurants. Although there are none within the immediate vicinity. Lobby was very clean and well lit with a very welcoming appearance. Nicely decorated with couches, chairs, tables, and a gas fireplace. Hosts were very polite and attentative. Public restrooms were very clean, as well. There was a information/business room with computers, printers, and internet access. Also, there was a snack bar/gift shop right next to the Front Desk. The breakfast for guests was very well stocked with multiple types of food and drink ranging from eggs, toast, french toast, fresh fruit, 4 or 5 various types of cereal, 3 different juices, and different types of coffee and milk. We had 4 adults and 2 children so we reserved a 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite with fully stocked kitchen much cheaper than what 2 separate regular hotel rooms at other hotels in the area were asking. Rooms were large and clean. The bedrooms had ceiling fans. The kitchen had a full size refridgerator with ice maker, microwave, and oven and stove. Silverware and pots and pans were provided. Nice bar/table with 4 chairs. The adjacent living room with TV, sleeper sofa, and a comfortable chair with ottoman was nice size. One bedroom had a large king size bed with TV and large closet and french doors leading to the living room. The other bedroom had 2 double beds and large closet. Honestly, there were really only four negatives we found: No indoor pool, which would've been nice for the kids. Some things in the room were not dusted off very well. The was no real exhaust fan in the bathroom to vent steam. And the fact that the hotel is located within a large business/industrial park whose streets are very dark with minimal street lighting. The hotel property itself is very well lit, but not the streets leading to it. Overall, we feel it was very nice and would highly recommend it.

Hands down the best place
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/23/07
I've traveled all around the US and have been in the finest hotels but this hotel in Harrisburg (haven't been to the other Homewoods) is perhaps one of the best kept secrets. No, they don't have *original* art on the walls but everything is clean, nicely decorated with more room than hotels costing 3x the price. I wonder if I even get the same amenities/service/space. Get this: REAL toilet paper not the 1600 grade sandpaper other places give you. The breakfast is hearty and I understand there are dinners on most weekdays (haven't tried the dinners but I'm pretty sure they're good if everything else is any indication). The staff is friendly. Internet connection was just two clicks if you have wireless. What great concepts, guys! Keep it up! I always enjoy my stay here and so do my employees who always insist we stay here. Bravo!

Great Stay
By Charles DeZutter, 6/4/05
We travel with our family of four kids, and the value of this all suites property is fantastic. We can bring food with us and cook in the full size kitchen. This saves money and aggravation because we don't have to drag our kids out to a restaurant after a long day on the road. Also, the pool is great, and the seperate bedrooms mean we don't have to go to sleep when the kids need to. While the suite is a little more than a standard hotel room, the savings from eating dinner in and the convenience of seperate rooms make this a must stay for us in the Harrisburg area. Oh yeah, the breakfast is teriffic!!
