We'll definitely return
By ,
This was a GREAT hotel in every way. Location, price, service and accommodations couldn't have been better. We were upgraded upon arrival at no additional cost. The free mini bar, including beer, and welcome champagne were nice extras. The breakfast buffet was plentiful enough to carry us through a full day of sightseeing. Rooftop retaurant was very pleasant and intimate. We'll recommend this to others and will definitely return.

A winner
By ,
The Artemide (accent on second syllable) is in a good location, is well-kept, the staff were very helpful and the price was right. Breakfast was quite adequate. I usually stay at the Hassler but the price had gone up substantially, and it was far from the site of a conference I was attending. Since there was a taxi strike in Rome at the time, it was just as well we stayed nearby. The rooms are not large, but are very well maintained. The hotel provides a pick-up service from the airport at a reasonable price. I can't think of any major or minor problems. The place certainly isn't as elegant as the more expensive hotels, but it is certainly adequate. Anyhow, one doesn't go to Rome to spend significant time in a hotel room.

Excellent Hotel & Location - Rick & George
By ,
The Hotel was centrally located to all of the major attractions. Located on Via Nazionalle at one end of the street is the beautiful fountain Piazza della Repubblica and at the other end you can see the Monument of Vittorio from a fourth floor balcony. It was a 5 minute walk from Termini Station to the Hotel. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Hotel Staff Stole From Our Luggages
By ,
During our 4 night stay, we bought a box of chocolates and laid them out on the table. On the 3rd night, we discovered that about 5-6 pieces of chocolate were missing from the box. We were not happy about it, but we simply wrapped up the box and hid it inside our luggages. On the 4th night, we were absolutely appalled to find that another 5-6 pieces of chocolates were missing - which meant that not only was the hotel staff stealing and eating our chocolcates, they were going through our luggages to do so. Although we didn't find anything else missing, we felt very violated that the staff was going through our luggagues. Upon informing the front desk of this, they did not apologize, and did not act surprised about it at all. We were further disappointed by the lack of response on their part.

Loved Hotel Artemide
By ,
We paid only 170 Euros a night for a triple room and thought the value was excellent. Of three hotels we stayed in, in Italy, Hotel Artemide was the best in cleanliness, service and value. Location is great because it is easy to find. Walking distance to major sights except Vatican. We took taxis and metro when we were too tired to walk. However, We saw many hotels in the Pantheon/Trevi fountain area that looked fun to stay at. We did not have a problem with staff stealing, but we also locked our luggage every time we left (at all hotels in Italy, we did this). The reception staff was fantastic - Mario, Giovanni and Paulo were very kind and helpful. Room was a good size for a triple. Beds and pillows are very hard, though. Bathroom was spacious and clean. I would definitely stay there again.

Great for Americans
By ,
To my fellow Americans who will be visiting Rome, let me recommend the Hotel Artemide. You can walk to the Artemide from the train station Roma Termini (which is how you reach the city frm the airport). It is located on the Via Nazionale, which is one of the largest streets in Rome, so you can always ask directions back if you get lost walking around. It is walking distance to everything except the Vatican. The staff all speak English well, and will arrange anything you request. My company takes customers to Rome every year and we always use the Artemide for these reasons. Rooms are clean and modern, though typical size (small) for European hotels.
