Over rated and over priced
We came to Rochester to attend the Lilac Festival and visit our sons. We found this hotel on line and it seemed to be a nice place. The reviews were encouraging. So we booked it and stayed there over night. It was the first and it will be the last time we stay. It is outdated and needs a major re-decorating in the rooms. We paid $85.00 plus tax....it should be $60.00 and no more. Our bedding was not very clean. The bed spread was stained and there was a burn hole in the sheet. One of the pillows had something on it also. The bathhroom was small and there was a dead centipede on the floor. The air conidtioner was old and did not workd the best. There was duck taped around the edges of it inside the room. To access what they call there continental breakfast, we had to go outside, down the stairs and around the corner into the office. That is where the breakafst was. The door was locked, so we rang the door bell. The manager came in his bare feet and unlocked it. Breakfast consisted of two types of cereal stored in plastic containers, a couple bananas and apples, a few packaged pastries, coffee, Sunny-D, and milk. The table service was loose in the drawer..some packaged and somw not. We had to take a tray for our food and go eat in our room. The next morning we checked out as planned. I went to the office to tell them we were checking out. I had to ask the manager for the bill. He did not offer it to me. The gentleman at the front desk was hard to understand, as was the lady on the phone when I called to make the reservation. I cannnot in good conscience recommend this hotel to anyone. The only good thing was the more quiet street is is on.
