Stagecoach Hotel & Casino, Beatty

This is prime example of what happens with the lack of competition! It seems the the town of Beatty is ruled by the casino owner and they do not allow competition. Service is poor and prices are high. We will not be going there again.

We like to view the area and take pictures of the flower's, the ghost town of Rhyolite and surrounding area, With side trips to death valley. We stayed at the Stagecoach hotel when we were there in Beatty, the room was very clean,we ate most of our meals in the cafe and they were very good,and I have to say better than some I have been served in las vegas,and cheaper, thats always a plus. We played some in the casino and the employes were very friendly and helpfull.

I am not sure if I should write in here after reading the reviews , can't believe how people act , sounds like nothing is good enough for them and they have to constantly complain about every little thing , I seems odd that at the stagecoach a fly gets in the room and it becomes a bad place , now the same thing happens else where , it is not a problem, wonder why ? We have stayed at the Stagecoach and no problem , the rooms are clean , the bathrooms are clean and the Food is good , the Prices ,well the prices are high everywhere . Sounds like most people like to blame there missery on anyone else . We stay at the Stagecoach every time we go to beatty and we enjoy it there , we play a little , spend time with friends and eat there . Well I say the Stagecoach is a good place to stay and have fun , that is if one knows how to have fun . Think enough said

The trip was for my class reunion, from Beatty High School. The accomodations were great! The staff was GREAT! The pool was even greater, (for the heat in the desert). Relaxing. A special thanks to Kelly at the front desk who was so accomodating with the whole experience. The only mistake we made was not bringing an Ethernet Cable along with us to connect to some business we had on the net. When trying to locate one of these in a small town like Beatty, you might as well be trying to locatate a glass of iced water sitting around in the Death Valley desert. However, there was a guy named George who owns the corner hardware store, that found one in his inventory, dusty and all, that was a life saver. I guess not much use for one of them there cables there. Thanks George! After reading some of the reviews on this site, some good, some bad, I didn't know what to expect...Let me say it was a welcoming experience. The thing I didn't like was... that the Casino got my money. Oh well, another 10 years, I'll be back to get it!

People give their reasons why they dislike this place. It's no vegas but that's what it so neat about this place. Look at the sunsets here. They are beautiful! The sun bounces off those red mountains. Stayed at the Stagecoach several times and have always found the people friendly and the food good. Sure the atmosphere at the coffee shop is lacking but so what. Food is good and I have eaten at worse and paid three times as much.

This is a great place to stay and visit Death Valley. Rooms were clean. Service was good and friendly. Food at Rita's cafe was very good with good prices. We never left there hungry. Will stay there again.

I stayed here for one night, March 3, 2009.The first thing I noticed when i entered the shantytown of Beatty was how much it has gone downhill since I last came here (six years ago).Two of the casinos, the Burro and the Exchange club, are out of business.So there's no competition for the Stagecoach, and that is a bad thing for the customer. I paid 56 bucks for a tiny room on a Tuesday night. Rita's cafe has especially deteriorated ; I paid 8 bucks for the special, "Beer battered cod with shrimp and cottage fries". The entire meal could fit on the palm of my hand, it was such small portions. Greasy junk like you would get at a Long John Silvers. One of the worst meals I've had in a casino, ever. I should have saved that money and bought a sandwich at the gas station. I'd never stay here again.

Most poor reviews of this place are from people who expect too much everywhere they go and have no ability to "rough it" a little. Let me tell you...the people of Beatty themselves are a tough lot, and if they give you a friendly smile, and most do, that is a good thing. But don't come in expecting Vegas rooms, gaming, or service. This is still the Old West to a large degree. I stayed for over a month and played poker regularly while there, and it is a great bunch of locals....when you take the time to get to know them. But these people are real people, and they have good days and bad days like everyone else---and I am referring to the staff being less than accommodating some days---they have not been through the "always smile" service training school. Basically, if you want a little glimpse of the Old West, you can experience some of that here.

Big room with a minimum of comfort. Only a TV and bed. Only three small flat pillows for two adults. No coffee machine, iron etc. Dirty bathroom and only three towls for two adults. Very noisy. I showered with my shoes on because the bath was very dirty. Only if you are gamblin you are really welcome. After we ordered our drinks the first question was if we gamble. We did not and the bill was high after we said no. If I had to choose again I would sleep in my car. That was cleaner then the hotelroom. Never ever again I will see this hotel

We thought this place was an ok place to stay while in the little town for work. After the second night my boss woke up to use the bathroom and came back to see his pillow covered in little tiny bugs. After more investigating, he found them under the mattress, in the comforter, and on the floor. After killing all that he found he managed to go back to sleep. He woke up and remembered what had happened in the night, then looked around some more and found 10-20 more bugs, and was completely grossed out by it, he called all of us employees (3 other rooms) and told us to pack our things; we checked out that day and drove to Vegas to stay the next two nights. After telling the management, they stated that they would refund our money, and that they had problems with the room next to it that they had fumigated but obviously did not get rid of the problem. We searched the internet and found these bugs to be the very hard to get rid of bed bugs. These bugs get into your close lay eggs and infect your home. They bury themselves into the mattress and you cannot get them out. This place needs to be shut down and fumigated with new mattresses and linens, or you will be bringing them home with you and infected your home. We found out what they were the very next day and used insecticide in our luggage and washed our clothes, and hopefully we did not bring any home with us. If you are planning to stay at this hotel, get online and search for bed bugs and what to look for and search your room with a fine toothcomb. My boss’s room was flooded with signs after he checked when it was too late. We will never stay there again.
