hell on earth
By joanne, 10/8/11
my husband and I travel an awful lot and I must say that this is by far the worst hotel/motel that we have ever been in. 1st the reservation was for a certain room and when we got there the reservation was changed but the reciept was still for the other room. 2nd there was no a/c so at 9:30 at night thedy pulled the a/c and started fixing it 3rd the key would not work in the door (regular metal key) 4th the pull out sofa was broken my grand children had no place to sleep this was in the presidential suite 5th there was something in the carpet and my son walked on it then the tile floor was covered in black footprints as you can see it truly was hell on earth

Worst Hotel Experience Ever!!!!!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/11
My friends and I stayed at this hotel in the presidential suite and it was anything but presidential. I was outraged as the suite was filthy, the bed linen and spread was filthy and stained, there were ants in the room, and I even saw a roach, the smoke dector had no batteries, there were little to no lights in the room, the sink did not work, the couch and chairs was filthy and stained and there was no cover over the pretend fireplace exposing wires. After speaking to one of the managers we were moved to another room that wasn't much better and I was still disatisfied but could not leave as all the hotels were full and could not accomodate me and my friends. Upon my departure I was eventually given a partial refund for my troubles. However this hotel should be condemned because of it's deplorable conditions. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and I am embarressed to tell anyone I stayed there. I know you get what you pay for but I paid $293.51 dollars for 2 nights, which to me was not a discounted price. So don't even waste your time going to this hotel. I have visited Pidgeon Forge and Gatlinburg for many years and have never stayed in a hotel as dreadful as awful as appalling as this one. Ms. Jones

Will never go back here again!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/12/11
We were told how nice it was online and on phone. When we got there they were dealing with an unhappy guest they had just called the police on!!! We were informed while checking in the WIFI only worked well in the lobby. I was told by one of thier telephone operators they had good wifi and would make sure we would get a room with a good signal (it never did work right and we live with our computers since we are technicians and stay in touch with our store visually through the internet while away). It got worse after that. The pool was a cloudy color I have never seen a pool be in a hotel, the water was warm and the filter was not running! The sheets had makeup on them, there was visible mold around the tub. then to top it off at first 1am and then again at 3 am the fire alarm was set of so we never really got any sleep the first night ruining the first day of our vacation. We wanted to go to another hotel but were told they had no other accomodations at any of thier other facilities like the one we had there (two seperate bedrooms for my wife, myself, and son). They strongly told us several times "there are no refunds" so we couldn't go to another motel with out getting into a civil suite (which I was sure I could have won but would have upset the rest of the family more than we already were). I suggest you find any other motel even if it's in the next city. We have stayed before at a hotel right across the street and always had a good room a good nights sleep and a clean pool that you did'nt fear what you might catch getting into it. Oh and the managers words to the two alarms in the middle of the night "that happens at all the hotels". Funny that the first time it has ever happened to us in all our years in hotels including 5 or 6 years visiting this same area in Tenn. We will pay a bit more and enjoy a REAL hotel next time.

Don't waste your money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/28/11
We searched online for quite a while before booking because we were traveling with 2 small dogs and 2 kids. We needed pet-friendly and an indoor pool. When we arrived, the sign out front advertised $39.77 and up for suites. Our quoted rate was double this There was no deadbolt or other added lock for the exterior door. We went to the pool, which was nice and warm, but there was a black scum on the tile around the top edge of the pool. Other visitors had "written" their names, etc. in the scum with probably their fingernails. Our room was supposed to be nonsmoking, but it had obviously been smoked in and they tried to cover the smell with some horrible room deodorizer. Disgusting! A huge disappointment. My daughter couldn't believe that we were staying in such a nasty hotel. We won't make the mistake again!

horrible place
By Willow, 2/20/11
When I called to make reservations I asked for a 2 bedroom and was told all I had to pay was 59.95 a night but they would upgrade me to a 3 bedroom for the same price. When i got there i was charged 69.95. I complained and the so-called manager told me that although I was told that, and it was on my reservation i couldn't have it for that. I tried to explain to her that I didn't need a 3 bedroom in the first place since some friends canceled and she wouldn't let me get a smaller room. The internet wasn't usable, we had to use my phone for that. We cut our vacation short and was left with a voucher because they won't refund the 2 nights we had left. Why would i possibly want to go back there and stay? Or any other hotel that has their name on it?

Horrible! Dont waste your money!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/17/11
No housekeeping at all. Very run down, did not feel clean, look or smell clean. Still fighting to get refund back for 3 of the nites we had reserved we were unable to stay. Horrible tv reception, no way to figure out what was on. Jacuzzi was stained nasty looking rust, stopper did not work. Bathroom barely able to get on toilet and close door, had to be a contortionist to move. Low voltage lamps the only lighting. Dirty carpet. Would not recommend and will never stay at one again. Wouldnt even slow down to look.

We won't go back!!!
By Sharon Lynn, 9/28/10
We were in Pigeon Forge, TN this past weekend and had made our reservations with Family Inn-Twin Malls for a 2 bedroom suite. We make a trip to Pigeon Forge at least once a year if not twice a year. And for most part we have nearly always stayed at a Family Inns. But this will most likely be our LAST time staying at one. We asked when we made our reservations by phone if we could pay the amount in cash when we checked in and was told on the phone that we could. We used our credit card to HOLD the room and we wanted to pay cash when we got there. When we got there on Friday (24th), one night's stay had already been run on our credit card and they would not credit the card and accept the cash for the 1st night stay. Then when we get to the room, the commode leaked the entire time we were there. (We told the front desk but no one ever came to look at it). Not to mention the back of the commode was missing and the kids kept wanting to play in the nasty water. And the coffee pot didn't work. We called the front desk about that too. We were told the rooms had hair dryers. Which from previous stays there was one in the rooms. You could see where one had been on the wall, but it was no longer there. The room was NOT cleaned as thoroughly as it should have been. We found trash in the trash cans, not to mention it didn't look like the floors had been vacuumed. If we hadn't of been so tired Friday when we got there, we'd probably been out looking for another place to stay, but we have decided we won't be staying there again. This made our 4th time staying at the Family Inn-Twin Mall too so we were highly disappointed at the lack of consideration by the front deck, the lack of cleanliness of the rooms.

I will never ever stay at a Family Inn again
By shalesta, 9/19/10
The Family Inn in Pigion Forge sucks! our stay was absoutley Horrible! Do not book a room at the Family Inn East. It is a dump. The staff was horrible. The manager there was rude, calling customer service was a joke as well. They were rude, and did not care to even try to make apologies for the complaints we had. As I said, this was my last visit with them. They wil never get one more penny from me ever!! The Grand resort, and all of the family inns are owned by one company. The Grand may be nice but the "East" Facility is wreched.
