Budget Lodging, St Clair

Wanting to get away for a 4 day Labor Day weekend, my husband and I were on a tight budget. We chose Budget Lodging in St Clair ,Mo, simply because of the low low price and because they were pet friendly. I fully expected to enter the room and be disappointed as I've always been at other places that accept pets. I was sure wrong! The rooms were lovely, spotless, smelled as if an animal had never been in it, and tastefully decorated. The motel offers all the ammenities of the more expensive ones I had called, just without the huge price tag. It is also close to "touristy" places like Meramac caverns and Meramac Sate Park, among other tourist sites, and they are not exaggerating, the sunset view from the balcony is breath-taking! The staff is exceptionally friendly, the free breakfast delicious, like grandma used to make! We will certainly start making the Budget Lodge in St. Clair, Mo. our personal getaway place when we need a break from the rat race. Shh! Let's not tell anyone, and keep Budget Lodging just for those of us who have found it so far!

I was in St Clair on business for over a month and my stay at Budget Lodging was great. the General Manager Jason and staff John and Pam made my stay more enjoyable. They are friendly, helpful and always accomodating. The room was clean, the pool was cleaned every day and the property is well maintained and quiet. Will always stay there when I am in the area.

This property is mis-named. When I think of "budget lodging" I do not think of a place like this. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is gracious and very service oriented. I have stayed in hotels that cost twice as much as this one, but were not nearly as nice and comfortable. If you are wanting to stay in South County, then you should consider this property. The price is almost impossible to beat, and the accomodations are not what one expects from a budget hotel. Congrats to the management and staff of this hotel to make it one of the best properties that I have stayed in the St. Louis metro area.

Clean rooms; Excellent breakfast; Located near St. Louis; Rates very reasonable; Coffee, hot tea, popcorn all the time; Can't say enough good things about Budget Lodging! This was a nice place to find after a long day of driving.

We brought our 10 y/o baseball team for a tournament. It was perfect. The breakfast each morning was great, and the kids loved the swimming pool. The beds were VERY comfortable, and the shower was nice too. Everything was really clean, and the people were friendly. Would definitely stay here again. Subway restaurant is located just steps away, and would recommend going to Judy's Malt Shop for a meal and ice cream. Meal prices were excellent. (Huge double cheeseburger was only $2.50!) Lewis' Cafe has delicious cheeseburgers (they grind their own Angus beef) but I wouldn't say their dinner type meals were that great. The coconut cream pie was awesome!
