Flamingo Inn, Marathon

Trying to find out if the owner of this inn is a W. F. Deary, Jr. Knew him in high school, trying to locate to see if all is well. Thanks S. Connatser

We love staying at this hotel. The owners are so friendly and they always leave a light on for us. Always clean - never seen a bug. Our sheets and room are cleaned every day. Close to area activity and not far to Key West. Highly recommend.

I've stayed at the Flamingo Inn each year since the late 80's and enjoyed every visit. The current owners, Skip and Kay are great and have always been excellent hosts.

Loved the owners. Loved the pool and our balcony overlooking the pool. Close to EVERYTHING! Would recomment it to anyone traveling in the Keys! Going back this winter!

I liked the price initially but the roaches and the lack of sheet changing over 4 nites turned me off. Even the envelope left for the maid tip was old, beat up and dirty. They are trying to save bucks and don't know that they are turning off service. I wont stay there again. However the owner was very sweet and cordial.

Price was ok, but dock is awful to get to, rooms were small - There website picture is not even close to the actual motel and its just out of the way of everything.

Six of us stayed and were very happy with the accomodations. All 3 rooms were very clean and neat. Staff was excellent and helpful. Yes, next to a trailer park that is very quiet. That wasn't a problem. All of us would definitely stay there again. Would recommend it.

We have stayed at the Flamingo Inn the last six spring breaks. Skip and Kay are wonderful hosts. We look forward to staying in the "Fish Room". It suits our three person family well. If we arrive late, they take care of us, leave the light on and our door open. It is comfortable to return year after year! We like being able to park right in front of our door. The pool is always clean and comfortable.

Pros: Inexpensive (reasonable not cheap), Clean, Ready Availablity, Well Maintained, & Courteous Staff/Owners Cons: Next to Trailer park, Old Style Building, Close to Hwy (Noisey even from unit furthest from the road), Low Grade Bedding, Awakward Room Layouts, Not Near any Local Amenity. Recommended For: -A place to stay for a fishing trip in Marathon. - You have someone with an RV and you want to remain in walking distance to them. - Stopping on the way and need a place to sleep.

One bedroom was too hot in the summer. Two bedroom was great for the price! The parking lot is small for boats, but the staff tried to accomodate everyone. Don't count on this boat launch...it was in many pieces. No where to stand safely. (There is a beuatiful, free pblic lauch just a few miles down the road)
