Inexpensive but tired.

At the price I paid for it this motel is something of a bargan for near-Disney lodging. It is an easy ten to fifteen minute drive to the parks from the motel. The people who run it are eager to please and work hard to make your stay pleasant. But...
The motel is a bit rundown. The rooms need renovation, the plumbing is a bit cantankerous and the ice machine doesn't work. (The owner has a cooler of ice in the office that you can use to fill up your ice bucket if you ask him.)
But most of this is what you expect for a low-price motel in a town that has failed at several attempts to become a "destination". (First Circus World and then Baseball City were sited in the large , now-vacant, lot next door to the Red Carpet Inn.) But what pushes to Red Carpet into not-recommended territory is the construction on Highway 27 where it is located. To reach the Red Carpet you need to pass it and make a U-turn in heavy traffic in a construction area on one of the most dangerous roads in Florida. Scary.
But, once the constuction is over, if you are looking for a cheap but crummy but cheap place to stay -- go for it.
