Winesburg Motel, Clyde

We reserved our room 2 weeks in advance, got there, and decided to give it a chance. After checking the room out and having a really hard time just getting checked in, we found roach motels and couldn't stand to be in the room because of the smell. When asking for our money back, the manager refused. Luckily, there is a Red Roof Inn down the road for not too much more!

This motel was the worst motel I have ever stayed in it was sooooo filthy it looked and smelled like that room had not been cleaned in months. The sheets were dirty, the bathroom was filthy -EVERY part of it. Everything was rusty. There was dried crusty stuff on my towels, and one of the towels was i swear used to clean up the bathroom floor folded back up and put back on the rack to use. It was so filthy I cant believe it. When I confronted him about it he simply said "Stay another night and I give you clean room" I laughed and said"Why did'nt you give me a clean room Last Night???" I asked for my money back and he refused. I slept in my sleeping bag. You may say why did'nt I just leave right away or ask for another room. Well I drove fromPa to North Dakota and was on my way back.I hit every kind of winter weather imaginable. But what comes to my mind is -I truely thought about it but I was so tired ( it was 2 am) and I had waoken him and he was also tired. Now I wish I would have done something different, it was so so so gross. I hope others complain too about it. The sign even boasts clean rooms, on the other side of the sign it says excellent room. Right.

It's a nice place; a tipical US Motel. The manager is a great person who's trying to do his motel look good. The service is god...at that price, what else can you expect.

The only thing I liked about the place was it was close to cedar point.. Now the bad, umm it has roaches very bad, It was dirty there were empty beer containers in the closet, our bed was broken, the pillow in the case was filthy black, they rent by the night or week and the live in people sit and stare at you whenever your doing anything{which is a little creepy} and last but not least there is a set of train tracks within 10 feet of the rooms. And they give you 2 towels for 4 people and don't ask for more because they wont give them to you due to theft.. But the people we met while in Clyde were very nice. Oh and we were'nt allowed to pay with a credit card without adding $5.00 to the total to cover their cost of using the machine so we had to pay cash..

the motel is too small, and it is not a very nice one either.
