Very nice
By ,
The Hotel was an average nice clean hotel. It was very close to the Fwy. Even though our room faced McDonalds right below, we didnt notice any noise from it. Its more of a business hotel, but was fine for us. Close to Old Town too, about 2 miles? The breakfast was OK, cold cereal, nice donuts and pastries ( not the pre wrapped kind) tea, milk, OJ etc.. Next day there was waffles you could make. I dint see any homeless people around, the front desk people were nice too. For the price, it was fine.

Lipstick on a pig
By ,
they tried to do some kind of remodel. it is ok i guess. the elevator felt like one of those coin operated vibrating beds. one thing i did like was that the carpet was of a light color. easy to see if it is dirty. they need to go green. they are still using styrofoam cups for the coffee. another thing is that i thought i would never see another tube tv in a hotel again, i guess i was wrong. but all in all was not to bad of an experience. better than motel six

Good Staff - Hotel..not so much
By ,
We stayed at the hotel for only a night but even that was too long to handle! Lets start with the good points The staff was great (Which is why the 2 stars). They were jovial, and very welcoming. The breakfast was good. Good variety and food quality was good. Now the things that matter - The hotel looked very good from outside and the lobby was nice but as soon as I entered the room, we could see it needed cleaning - lots of it. The carpet was filthy and the bed very uncomfortable. The bathroom was pathetic, tiny with a barely there kind of shower. With two kids under 5, we could have definitely used the bathtub. We realized that since we got a very good deal through Priceline, we were given the least desirable room in the hotel, the one with McDonald drive through right outside our window, no bathtub and filthiest possible carpets. Will I recommend it to others - Only if they want to save money at any cost Will I go back there - NEVER

Work release area
By ,
I didn't stay at the hotel so I had to give it a 4. I got off the 5 fwy at Richards and there were homeless people on 2 corners with signs. I turned left and there was another homeless pushing his shopping cart in the right hand lane. Had to go around him. The Govenor is right on the corner. Within 5 minutes there was 2 police, an ambulance, and the fire dept. in the parking lot. Seems there was some kind of domestic disturbance in the parking lot between people that I'll bet were not staying at the hotel. More homeless walking down the sidewalk. I drove past the hotel down Gannon and there were 50-60 homeless types at a facility just around the corner and up and down each street in the area. Just down Richards is the work release facility. My wife said "Let's get outta here!"
