The Farnsworth House Inn is a Victorian bed and breakfast that offers gracious accommodations and maybe even a little scare. Some people believe that a ghostly visitor still walks the halls at night. A fine dining restaurant that serves period fare, bookstore, and a tavern where keepers are well versed in the language of the Civil War and enjoy discussing it at length are available. The Mourning Theatre also presents dramatic ghost stories. A full country breakfast is served each morning.

Im done with the Farnsworth!
By Kevin, 12/05/09
If you ever intend to actually enjoy the B&B side of the Farnsworth dont go until they get new management. Since they can pull people because of all the paranormal activity they more than half step on customer service/hospitality. The rooms are DIRTY, pillows smelled like mold, dust on the base boards and trim, rugs were dusty/dirty. The breakfast was meager with cold to warm coffee. They made you feel as if they were just waiting for you to finish so you wouldn't bother them. Tthe people working there ranged from nice-to rude-to indifferent. They have a loud chime clock in the hallway that sounds off every 15 minutes. Good luck getting some good sleep!;) When we went to check in the lady at the counter was taking a call from her husband. She was talking about something totally mundane. She never even acknowledged us standing infront of her and then she stood up and turned her back on us and ignored us for about 5-7 minutes while she conversed about much of nothing. We really don't ask for much and take no pleasure in complaining. My wife and I have been there 6 x in the last 5 years and have seen it decline. This past November was the last straw. Its a shame because it really is a great place and location but the management is horrible.

ROACHES -- STAY AWAY!!!!
By pitblvr1313, 10/20/09
A good friend of mine visited last month and had roaches in her room. There were also roaches in the restaurant. They charge excessive amounts of money for teeny tiny rooms overrun with roaches. I have reservations in December and I've been trying to cancel for several weeks now and I'm being completely ignored. No one will even get back to me with a confirmation of cancelling and a guarantee that my credit card will not be charged any more money (they already stole $100 from me for a "deposit," which is ridiculous because it is more than TWO months before my stay). Don't stay here. You will regret it.

Shocked and dissapointed!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/09
Myself and 3 friends planned a girls getaway weekend Aug. 2009 since I stayed at the Farnsworth many times before I had suggested it for our stay that weekend. I booked 2 rooms in January having email conformation on both(which I showed them). When we arrived in Aug to our shock and dismay they only had one room available. We asked them for a manager to try and help rectify the situation, the woman at the front desk refused! I asked for a refund for my deposit and we would look for acomodations elsewhere and she had the nerve to ask me if I wanted a refund on both rooms DUH!!??!! We NEVER recieved an appology from this woman for our trouble or help finding another place to stay.Thankfully we found another B&B to accomodate us and welcomed us with open arms. I would be very reluctant to stay there again. At least not with out calling at least a week ahaed of time to make sure I have a room/rooms to stay in.

Service bad, food okay, basement ghost tour great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/03/09
My husband and I go yearly to Gettysburg. We were disappointed in the service while eating in the tavern and the food was just okay. The best part of the Farnsworth is the ghost tour. Thanks to our guide we were very pleased and can't wait to take another tour next year.

Loved it.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/09
The Farnsworth House ghost tour totally rocked! It was fun, and educational. Even my children ages 9, 11, and 15 loved it. Allie our tour guide was absoltuely fablous! She sung a song towards the end, and what an amazing voice. We've gone on other ghost tours while in town and where greatly disappointed and bored while on them. It's worth to go for a day visit and visit the Farnsworth House, you won't be disappointed. out of 5 stars the Farnsworth house rates a 10 star! You won't be disappointed!

Dinner at the Farnsworth House Inn 7-2009
By Devilhawk4, 07/08/09
The Farnsworth has great food, both in the dinning area and the pub. Recently stopped inn mid evening for a bite to eat had the Texas regiment French onion soup with cheese have to give this an A+ and had the steak sandwich which was very good with a mushroom onion glaze and tomato with lettuce. The birch beer was native to the region and had a smooth and creamy bite wish I got more. I must say very very good food if you spend a day in Gettysburg national park the Farnsworth is a great place to eat and relax afterward! The prices are not that bad for this economy ! High props for the Farnsworth!

I LOVE the Farnsworth House
By ANTHONY, 11/19/08
I visit Gettysburg, PA, every year - the weekend closest to the 20th of November - and no trip would be complete without staying at the Farnsworth house. The staff is kind and friendly, and always willing to bend over backwards to accomodate us. In the last, we have stayed in the Belle Boyd, Lincoln, Jenny Wade, Custer, and Longstreet rooms, and LOVED every one of them. The beds are comfy and the decor and antiques in the rooms compliment the decor perfectly. Breakfast has always been great as well. If you plan on going to Gettysburg, PA, you need to stay at the Farnsworth House Inn. It is wonderful!!! (P.S. I haven't seen a ghost yet, but, I'm hopeful. :-) )
