ridiculous
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/22/08
the hotel is renovated and the design is quait good. the location of the hotel is good. That's all and my stay left a lot of bad memory. I booked the hotel in the internet and they couldn't find my reservation. It is absolutely ridiculous for such a famous 5 stars hotel. After getting into the room, the room was full of dust on the telephone, tables and on the floor. I am very doubt about the house keeping standard. The payment was messy, I had to paid by cash again even I was debited by credit card during the booking system. Moreover, after I left the hotel for 2 weeks, they debited my credit card without any notice. I emailed to them to look for the reason. They claimed that I used 3 bottles of water at the minibar (which I never used at all). What a ridiculous! It is totally messy, overpriced and poor-serviced hotel.

Wonderful
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/01/07
Just renovated, this hotel was a wonderful experience. Make sure you admire the thoughtful and stylish modern fittings, of which the proprieters are very proud. Not ideal for families, but great for couples. The room was small, but typical for Amsterdam. Don't take large suitcases, as space is limited and stairs are tight. The only complaint we had was that the ensuite had a clear glass door, so there was no privacy while one used the toilet. Great location.

Fall RISK & they DON"T CARE !!
By j.seamus, 06/06/06
On first day, took a shower. the tub is elevated (& boxed with tile) about 8 inches from the floor. SLIPPED & FELL ONTO THE FLOOR. Filled out the in room complaint form. notified the room service, notified the floor manager who told me that 'I should have been more careful & used the (nonexistant) railing' ! At check out I again filled out a complaint form & told the front desk who didn't provide any response. Provided my email address and told them I expect a response, since someone could be severely injured. STILL NO RESPONSE to date & waiting two weeks. YOUR SAFETY IS OF NO CONCERN. JUST YOUR MONEY!

Great all round!
By Michael, 06/10/05
This hotel is in a very good location. It's within walking distance to anywhere of interest in the city, but not too close to less desirable area's. It was the best hotel we stayed in in Europe. Try to get a corner suite, they are larger than the regular rooms. Amsterdam is awesome! I can't wait to go back!

Just renovated
By John, 06/09/05
I was really surprised when I last visited the NH hotel in Amsterdam. The hotel was completed renovated. Recently converted from a Golden Tulip Hotel to an NH Hotel, the new look is clean and modern. The lobby now offers a bar and a spaceious seating area. The rooms have also been renovated and I would definately recommend staying at this hotel.
