Hilton Amsterdam, Amsterdam

It is certainly off the beaten path and a ways away from most transportation. We took a cab from the airports and got robbed for 42 euros (I think the driver really took the scenic route). The view is great if you get canal view side. Broadband internet is the MOST EXPENSIVE I have ever seen. You get 24 hours of access for 27 Euros -- of course there is a 2 hour and a weekly rate -- both are crazy. Even at these rates you are working with a limited upload/download volume. We stayed using a HHonors voucher, so the price was OK, but this is considered a 5 star hotel, and as someone stated earlier I can't seem to see the 5th star.... StBosco2002

This Hotel (Where John Lennon and Yoko Honeymooned)is outstanding as far as service, friendliness and overall experience. The location is mostly residential but close to the trams which run all over the city. Richardo's Restaurant overlooks the front of the hotel and a park. There is also a restaurant/bar in the rear overlooking the canal. Overall a great hotel!

As soon as we arrived and walked in the door we knew it was a great choice!!!! Bellman there to greet you take your luggage opens the door everytime gets a taxi waiting when you need one anything you need!!!! Hotel has everything you need to internet adapters umbrellas bikes free of charge any toirletry you need 24 hour room service beauty salon gorgeous view of the canal!!!! Room was very clean goose down comforters pillow menu free of charge 24 hour room service as well as mini bar fully stocked in room The bathroom was very nice huge tub very nice blowdryer tons of toiletries also pant press in room with free coffee or hot tea you can make in room too. The list goes on......cable movies video games internet all available on your tv. Desk tables with 2 chairs lights for reading above bed (make sure you request queen size bed largest they have and a canal view 5th floor was a great view The restaurant is nice as well as the bar area fire place and view of canal See if you can get a deal that includes breakfast with the room rate because it is 30.00 us dollars maybe 35.00 a person and we stayed there twice the first time was alot more and didint include breakfast the next week for the same room rate was less and included breakfast for two!!!! Nice Breakfast too!!!!
