Swissotel Amsterdam, Amsterdam

The hotel room was much larger than what I expected. I requested a double size room but the bed was more like a king size, lots of room to walk around the room. We had A/C and heating so the room temp was always the way we wanted it. Room service was excellent, the people at the front desk very helpful. Great restraunts close to the Hotel, not to mention it is next to Dam Square. Everything in this beautiful city is in walking distance. 5 minute walk from the central station. Train ride is 3.80 euro person between the airport and central station, cheap and it only takes 6 minutes. We heard nothing from the room, sound proof. Never heard the neighbors either. Excellent accomodations. You can sign up for tours at the front desk and the tour agency is just across Dam Square. Tours are cheap and excellent. We vacationed in Amsterdam (the most romantic city in Europe) for our honeymoon. The service at the hotel was outstanding and the staff was beyond helpful and quite professional. We plan to return to the Amsterdam and this hotel for our 5 year anniversary! I highly recommend this hotel!

Convenient location, perfect for walking to sights. Felt very safe, even at night hours. Good eating nearby. We are returning for the third time this summer. Previously stayed at the Estherea (canal house) which was charming on a canal, but not very cordial and a longer walk. We highly recommend Swissotel as the best location and value.

This place had exceptionally friendly staff. They were knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms were clean and quiet. Had a great view of Dam Square. I highly recommend this hotel. Well worth the money. I have stayed here 4 times and am going back twice this summer.

staying here was agood experience specially for the location.But I didnt like the small bath room for a 5 stars hotel?? and because we had a late plane we were obliged to sit in a narrow corridor because the hotel has no lobby ,no lounge and the staff couldn t manage to give us a place to waitin??/

Myself and my wife stayed here with friends of ours and had a fantastic weekend. the hotel is situtaed in a great location, which is near to the red light district and bars, but at the same time tucked away at the far end of the Dam Square. The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff friendly and attentative....Will come back again

Our room had a lovely view of Dam Square. We sleep with our windows open so there was some traffic noise, but didn't interrupt our sleep. Location was excellent, right in the middle of the city, however walls are quite thin (I could hear the guy next door snoring!). No gym, which was a bummer, but service is excellent.
