A Motel Chain Pretending to be Luxurious
By sms, 6/22/10
It is perhaps fitting that in Venice, the city of masquerades, this budget hotel chain gets away with pretending to be a luxurious establishment. If you are accustomed to finer things in life, definitely don't waste your money and time here. This place combines the worst of American business practices-- cost-cutting-- with the worst of Italian characteristics--haphazard service. Whereas, in similarly priced hotels in Roma--The Eden Hotel, and the Villa la Massa, in Tuscany-- we were welcomed with a note from the manager and a lovely fruit basket, here there wasn't even a note. On our first night, no turn down service was offered. When we called to ask someone to close the shutters against the flood lights, illuminating the hotel's marquee, they sent a man with extra towels. If it weren't so annoying, it would be laughable. This is the type of establishment which neglects to include jam with its bread basket, then pretends that jam isn't customarily included. The mini bar, unlike at other fine hotels in Italy, didn't include wine. Upon, inquiring, we were told that it was against Westin's policy to include wine--perplexing, and probably economically motivated. We asked for a massage therapist, explaining that I have a medical condition. We were sent an aesthetician, who at least God bless her, explained this to us before she did more damage. The concierge, then informed us that medical massages can only be obtained in hospitals. It would have been nice if he would've let us know before wasting the woman's and our times. The extremely expensive food in the restaurant also leaves much to be desired. All in all, a horrible hotel. The one person who seemed to be earning her pay was the woman at the reception desk, Roberta. Don't ruin your Venetian vacation by staying at this inferior hotel.

This Is A Awsome Hotel!
By Peter D, 6/5/11
I have been to Venice Italy twice within the past 12 months and both times I have stayed at the Westin Europa and Regina Hotel. Its absolutely beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. Staff are extremely helpful and the food they serve at their resturants is some of the best in Venice. The rooms are beautiful, bathrooms marble and this hotel is a five minute walk to all the top attractions. The front desk staff is extremely helpful, especially Alberto who helped us with printing our boarding passes. Of all the hotels I have ever stayed at in Italy (including Rome and Florence), this has been my favorite! When I go back next year, I am going to stay there again!

Beautiful Near San Marcos Sq but So So Service
By Brian, 6/9/11
We stayed at the Westin Hotel Europa & Regina. It is a very beautiful Hotel. The room we had was average, room 612, but the private terrace attached to the room was probably one of the best views in all of Venice; perhaps in all of Europe. We have attached photos of the terrace and the view of the Grand Canal and the Salute. There were a lot of mosquitos in the room; however, perhaps from the terrace ... The rate did include breakfast, which was very nice. We did have some issues with the breakfast. First of all, it was exactly the same all three days we were there...Also the hot foods especially the eggs and sausage were cold all three days...they did allow us to order eggs off the menu, but found the consistent cold food to be odd in a hotel of this caliber and price range. The service at the hotel is helpful, but not engaged. The restaurant service was the same; you had to really hunt somebody down after they initially seat you. To be fair, they did always correct everything to our satisfaction; it just felt at times as if we were bothering them. The inside elevator buttons needed replacing as you would have to "pound" them to get your floor or any floor to illuminate. The external restaurants recommended by the staff were so-so (we did much better just finding our own) and the "promotional trip" recommended by the concierge to the Murano Glass Factory was an experience similar to a "Time Share" seminar. Also, Susan ordered a hamburger from Room Service and water and the tab came to over $75 US. We would stay here again, at the right rate and especially if we could get room 612 again, but this time armed with deep woods off... Bottom Line, beautiful hotel, so-so unengaged staff, Room 612 terrace is awesome, rest of room ok, Breakfast Buffet great, but cold hot foods and appears to be the same everyday. oh yeah and lots of mosquitos! Room Tip: Room 612 with Misquito Repellent!

Like being in a living dream.
By Mary Lib, 2/3/10
We made the approach from the train station...The grand canal is everything and more that you see in photos. We were instructed by the hotel staff not to touch our bags the footman were there to assist. We were escorted to our suite and what a fab. view. Well worth the money. once in a lifetime event. Close to everything you want to do. Thanks for a perfect vacation.

Dream Vacation
By Kumar Shah, 2/15/06
Two choosy New York couples were here in February, 2006. Elegant lobby, great location, friendly staff, got upgraded to part canal view rooms (not bad for EUR 239/night!). Would recommend this hotel highly.

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/14/09
We had a great room that was beautiful. Very clean. The hotel is in a great part of Venice a 5 or 10 min. walk to everything. I wish I was back looking out my window and seeing the Grand Canal.
