WORTH A STAY BUT TO IMPROVE
By ,
stayed 2 nights in princess grace suite, first class definitely and 5 star. Superb ambience to hotel but staff rather dull, language difficulties and many enthusiastic - mainly central european - but irish staff first class and irish welcoming. heritage lounge totally functional and private; ryan ,there,is one of the most courteous and professional hotel staff members i have ever encountered in global travel. quality assurance manager rather disinterested and perfunctory and general manager didn't answer my (hand - written ) post-stay letter! Bar service poor but very busy; didn't eat there due to mixed quality reportings. expensive, yes, but would revisit even aware of present limitations of quality service provision. central dublin stole the show, however, and especially the onepic restaurant and staff around the corner

Pricey, Stuffy, Blahhhh
By ,
When my buddy asked me to go to Ireland for St. Patricks Day, and told me we were staying in a 5 star hotel, I was thrilled and really excited. When we first arrived, we were put in a room so small and stuffy, we immediately complained. Got a second room. Not much better, but tolerable. Water pressure is horrible. The 3rd night we were there we had holes in the sheets. The staff was rude. Luckily Marriott has bought this and can save this historic hotel. We actually were kicked out the last night due to a renovation schedule (they are closed for 18 months), and they put us in the Holiday Inn. I was more comfortable there. On a good note, the location is fantastic, right across from St. Stephens Green and 2 blocks away from Grafton St. Make sure to go into Captain Americas and say hi to Con (the bartender). Since we were travelling on Marriott points the room was free fortunately. If I would have paid cash for this room, I would of flipped out and demanded a refund immediately.

top of the notch on St.Stephens Green
By ,
The location is great, basically in the heart of the city: Just opposite of St. Stephens Green, opposite of St.Stephens Green Shopping Center (huge mall)and just around the corner of Grafton Street (=pedestrian zone). Everything can be easily reached by foot, which is especially good after one of the infamous Dublin Pub Crawls... The Hotel itself is in a very elegant and beautiful building from the 18.th century. Everything is very neat and clean and the service is excellent!
